What a beautiful night!

Sometimes you just need calm…

Like the sea tonight

As the sun drops down

And the end of the week sets in…

It’s nice to reflect on what’s happened

The successes, the good times, the progress…

As well as the challenges, most overcome

As we set in to a new week

Vision set

Targets locked

And progress ready to be made.

“My training is finally coming together…

…after years of going to the gym results just didn’t show, until this!”

It’s such a great feeling when your body is working well…

Your performance is improving

You feel good 😎

You feel strong💪🏼

And the efforts you’re putting in are being rewarded.

For many. It’s not the case. And often you’ll sit in two camps…

One. You simply don’t train regularly to get any kind of result

Or

Two. You train consistently 3-4 times a week or more. The exercise selection, reps and sets are ok. But there not unique to you to stimulate the desired change.

A lot of Unleashed clients come to me in that second camp.

They’re doing a lot of things right.

They simply need things optimising.

And that’s just their routines.

Once that’s dialled in.

The real magic happens…

Dialling in nutrition, sleep, stress and the routines of life (we call it a WHOLE LIFE approach)

You know. Often we think we don’t have time for many things.

It’s amazing what is possible when we bring awareness to how we use our time.

It’s the same in the gym. Or generally just working out.

Doing things with control and proper technique

It’s a game changer.

“See how he’s getting his chest to the bar, that’s perfect.” Charlie is really flying 🙌🏼

The words of one dude speaking to another dude in the Calisthenics park where I met UNLEASHED client Charlie for a workout.

As I was setting up the gymnastic rings I had Charlie warm up with some pull ups…

It was great to hear the comments of these random people complimenting his technique

This is something we’ve continued to build on over the last twelve months.

He’d never done anything like this for a very, very long time prior to starting so these comments and what I saw was BRILLIANT!

It’s amazing what you can achieve with the right help and support. If you’re willing to follow the plan, do the work, and have a desire for progress…

Anything is possible.

Charlie continues to go from strength to strength…

And it was great to get him working on some front lever and back lever exercise…

Exploring new positions, new ways of activating muscles and so much more.

Charlie thoroughly enjoyed it!

And it’s always great to hear!

It “feels” right… game changing insights that pay off week after week.

Had some brilliant feedback from Hazel this week…

Let me share something that will help you that has enabled her to go from strength to strength

How you move is key to progress whether you’re lifting weights or perfecting body weight skills.

How you engage your muscles will be crucial to how well you build muscle and therefore how well you tone up.

The insights I gave Hazel helped both.

In the example pictured Hazel has been perfecting Hollow Body Rocks

An intermediate level core exercise that takes effort to do properly,

The key insight to better engage the lower abs was to make sure the pelvis is posteriorly tilted and when rocking to allow the bum to lift off the floor.

This was the key to

1. Better engagement 💪🏼
2. An effective muscle burn 🔥
3. Awareness of technique.

The movement allows a smooth transition forward and back, it just flows.

If you fatigue and technique falters you get INSTANT feedback… your back SLAPS down to the floor instead of the smooth transition you’ve been use to.

Hazel mentioned “it just feels right, and I know when to stop because me back slaps down 😂”

It’s the little insights that go along way in to you progressing far faster than you could on your own.

And the key to a stronger CORE is having awareness around how to engage it best. And what’s best in one position, maybe different in another.

Rock solid legs! If you want to build strong, powerful and resilient legs that allow you to do the things you enjoy…

It’s important to go beyond “traditional” exercises like squats, lunges and glute bridges. Yes there’s loads more.

A great one, NORDIC LEG CURLS…

Targeting the hamstrings and glutes in a way that gives your legs RESILIENCE.

You’ll have more control of your speed when running, you’ll generate more power when sprinting or jumping…

If you want to get faster for a running event.

If you want to shape your legs

If you want to perform amazing skills with your body…

Opening yourself up to new opportunities with an experienced coach can work wonders.

Showing you things you won’t see often in a gym.

Exercises that have you work in a variety of ways, helping your whole body.

…that have tremendous benefits to your results and experience.

YES. You’ll feel it a lot more when an exercise is new. That’s normal.

That’s what UNLEASHED client Rachel experienced with the Nordic Curls.

Where you’re knelt down, with your feet and ankles supported, bent at the knees the rest of the body is upright to start, then you hinge from the hips guiding your face to the floor and back up again. Or the extreme version is hinging from the hips and extending the knees too.

The first time you try it, it’s an eye opener to the strength required to get back up 👀

Start with the basics… do 100s of press ups, squats, dips and pull ups.
