For everyone asking about the oil pattern for this weekend’s tournament…
Yes, we have seen the messages. Yes, we have heard the whispers around the centre. Yes, we know some of you have already started debating whether you’ll need urethane, reactive, a surface change, three spare balls, a weather forecast, or the blessing of the bowling gods.
Naturally, everyone wants to know the important details. How long is it? How much volume is there? Where is the out-of-bounds? Will the track area hold up? Will moving left be the answer, or will moving left begin a long and emotional journey toward the left gutter? Will your favourite ball look incredible in practice and then suddenly develop stage fright during Game 1?
These are all perfectly reasonable questions.
Some bowlers will study the graph carefully, calculate ratios, compare previous patterns, watch twelve videos, and arrive with a detailed transition plan. Others will look at it for six seconds, say “yeah, that looks playable,” and throw the same ball they always throw. Both approaches will somehow produce mixed results.
So, after all that valuable analysis, thoughtful discussion, dramatic speculation, and completely unnecessary suspense, the pattern information you’ve all been asking for can be found right here:
