Mindset Monday…

Having a healthy and positive mindset is the most important thing when it comes to achieving goals, and it is something a lot of people struggle with.

One of my goals for next month is to focus on improving my mindset. Here are the key points I’m going to be following to try and achieve this:

1. COMMITMENT: This relates to the dedication we have to ourselves and the things that matter to us. We need to have the courage to push ourselves everyday to progress to our goals. To do this we need to stop procrastinating and start tackling the little tasks we put off.

2. CALMNESS: It’s so easy to get caught up in the busyness of life, it is important to find calmness within it all. When stressed, our thoughts can be all over the place, so we need to find ways to process what is happening around us and process what we are thinking. Practicing calmness can help us centre our thoughts and recognise when we are worrying about insignificant details, and will allow us to tackle one obstacle at a time. Taking the time to process what has happened throughout the day and check in on ourselves will allow us to decompress and think more clearly about our goals and priorities, and help get rid of indecision without being overwhelmed.

3. COMPASSION: The most important way to achieving a healthy mindset is to be compassionate to ourselves. It’s so easy to compare ourselves to others and their successes but we need to learn to focus on the path that we are on. Setting unrealistic standards for ourselves and doubting our own abilities will get us stuck. Compassion will allow us to set healthy expectations of ourselves, allow us to trust ourselves and our journey. Don’t get hung up on the losses, and celebrate the small wins along the way.
