If you enjoyed the summer CX at Dinton, you might want to enter the Wessex league event coming up at Prospect Park in Reading on Sunday 3rd October. There will be a big crowd from Sprockets there, both juniors and many of the coaches.

Entry via the British Cycling event page below. You will need to register on the website for this to work but don't need membership to enter.

In summer 2021 SVC Juniors merged into Sprockets Cycle Club.

This change gives all of our riders the opportunity to develop alongside riders of similar age and strengths. Being part of a larger club brings opportunities for both riders and coaches, and will allow us to focus on coaching without the significant administration overheads that come with running 2 clubs.

Sprockets is a British Cycling Go-Ride Club for riders up to 17 years old, we run sessions on traffic free sites to improve cycling skills, confidence and ability. The club is run by qualified, insured and experienced coaches.

Great to see Meghan, Daniel and Stanley at my first Sprockets coaching session today (here in a 'kieren' race). I know some others from SVCJ have been along, and we hope more will make it in the near future.

Sprockets has decided to take a break until 4th September as coaching numbers have been hit by the pandemic, but will be back to normal weekly routine from then.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT about the future of SVC Juniors.

We are always thinking about how to best meet the needs of our riders. The small size of the club has always been both an asset and a limitation, giving us a lot of flexibility but also making it hard to develop riders across a wide range of ages and with different strengths. We’ve looked at growing the size of the club, but the availability of coaches has been a limit to this.

After careful consideration and discussion with others, we have concluded that the best interests of our riders current and future will be met by integrating our club with our friends at the Sprockets Cycle Club based just down the road in Arborfield.

We regret that we are unable to run a session this Saturday due to coach availability. We'll definitely be back on Saturday 19th June

Reminder that there is no SVC Juniors this Saturday, but we are running a cyclocross themed session for everyone who wants to come along at 6pm on Monday at the school.

We'll be covering the skills that will be useful in the junior race series which starts on Wednesday.

I'm still waiting on confirmation from the school so it's possible the location might change, but I'll let you know in good time on Monday if that's the case. Please check here and on the WhatsApp before leaving.

We'll be away for the next 2 Saturdays due to half term.

We'd like to run an extra session for everyone entering or thinking of entering the Dinton cyclocross events in June, probably at around 6pm on the evening of Monday 7th June. It will be focused on cyclocross skills, but everyone is welcome whether entered or not.
