We hope everyone who attended Lulu Piovesana’s class at shildon today from respect judo and visiting clubs had a fantastic day. Big thanks to Lulu for travelling up putting on some great sessions and bringing her medals and experience to share with everyone.

Standard entry for the DNA Judo Lake District Open Championships closes at 23:59 on Tuesday 5th May 2026.

A proper development event; meaningful matches, fair groupings, and the right environment to improve. Delivered in partnership with Kendal Judo Club.

No need to message to check entries in your category; if we can only offer limited competitive opportunities, we’ll call you to discuss options and offer a refund if needed.

Entry analysis takes place Wednesday; weigh-in times and any necessary calls will be made Thursday.

Late entry pricing applies from Wednesday 6th May.

Sunday 10th May. Kendal Dojo. ⛰️ ⛩️

We’re excited to officially launch the DNA Judo Lake District Open Championships, taking place on Sunday 10th May 2026 at the fantastic facilities of Kendal Judo Club.

Following the success of our growing DNA Judo events programme, this competition will provide another high-quality opportunity for judoka to step onto the contest mat in a professional, well organised and welcoming environment.

The Lake District Open Championships is designed to support developing players and club level competitors; giving them valuable experience while enjoying the atmosphere of a properly run judo event.

Entries are now open via the website, and we expect places to fill quickly.

Big congratulations to our four amazing judoka who stepped onto the national stage for the very first time at the British Schools Judo Championships ! 🥋💪

you guys showed incredible courage just by entering this tough competition. Facing experienced opponents at a national level as complete newcomers is no small thing. You fought with heart, gave it everything you had, learned a ton in every match, and represented our club with pride and respect.

Winning a medal is awesome, but showing up, throwing yourself into the challenge, and walking off the mat stronger and wiser than when you arrived… THAT is the real victory today. We're so proud of your grit, your sportsmanship, and the way you handled yourselves.

This is just the beginning of your judo journey. The experience you gained this weekend is gold – and we can't wait to see how much further you'll go from here. Keep training, keep believing in yourselves, and know that your whole team and family is behind you 100%.
