LADIES TRI-MATCH RESULT

The annual Tri-Match was contested this week between the ladies of Shifnal, Lilleshall and Wrekin, with Shifnal winning by 1 point.

JUNIOR SECTION UPDATE

After a hugely successful season for the Peewees, brilliantly led once again by Mina Krzak, the Tour Final
was held here at Shifnal with over 60 participants.

Congratulations to the Ladies Handicap League who won their semi final against Lilleshall this week.
The final will be played against Bridgnorth on Monday 14th September at The Astbury.

ANN PETERS RETAINS SLCGA SENIORS CHAMPIONSHIP

Congratulations to Ann Peters on winning the SLCGA Seniors' Championship for the fourth year in a row! On Friday 31 July the Matchplay Finals were held at Arscott Golf Club with Ann winning her semi-final 3&2, followed by a 3&1 win in the final!

Each year, four clubs – Bridgnorth, Enville, Handsworth and Shifnal contest this trophy taking turns to host.

It has become a wonderful tradition, bringing together our four clubs in a spirit of friendly competition and lasting friendship.
The event has a very inclusive format, being one of the few competitions where our Lady Captain, Men’s Captain, Ladies, Men, Juniors, and Senior Men all represent their club together.

On Sunday at Shifnal, a team of 18 players from Shifnal retained the trophy we won in style at Handsworth last year, averaging over 33.5 points to win by a margin of 42points.

Such is the level of competition and the prestige associated with winning, that two teams – Bridgnorth & Enville – both scored more points this year than our successful score at Handsworth in 2025.

Seb Reynolds won the Best Junior Score and Andy Murden (with 43points) won the Best Overall Score.

Jane & I (pictured with the Trophy) would like to congratulate all the Shifnal players and thank them for representing the Club on this occasion.
