Another successful snooker league was completed yesterday with Alastair Johnson narrowly defeating Gary Sandison in the final, hope to see more members competing the next time

The change machine is back up and running again. It was found out that crumpled notes was blocking the reader so anytime trying to get change it wouldn’t accept the note. In future do not use crumpled notes in the machine as this is what happens to it.

The change machine in the snooker club is not working at the moment unfortunately so maybe get someone to have a look at it after the new year

The draw will be made up on Friday for the winter league so get your name in before then. The notice is up in the snooker club below where the list of members is. if you are away at the moment and can’t get your name in time then just send a message on here and we can add you.

Just a reminder that memberships are due for the Whalsay snooker club this month and new members welcome so get in touch. We will also be having the leagues again (£5 entry) so get your names in before end a month. The sheet is up in the snooker house for it or you can just message me an will stick down your name. It will hopefully be 4 leagues this time if enough interest with quarters, semi dan a final played sometime a beginning a year

Just a reminder that memberships are due next month for the 25/26 year. It runs from September to September so get in touch if you want to join (£50 adults and £20 under 16s). There is also a winter league which we had last year starting late September early October so if interested then there is a notice in the club to write your name down. It’s for members only so you have to join to play in it.

***Whalsay Summer Days***

The club will be open to the public from 2-5pm on Saturday 2nd August for any beginners looking to have a try at snooker. Some cues will be provided. Committee members will be here to coach and advise with the rules.

Entry: Free

Members are also welcome to come along and join in but beginners will be prioritized if it's busy.

When using the change machine, make sure the notes are flat and not crumpled as this causes the money to jam in the machine

Whalsay Snooker Club had two leagues set up from the end of last year and the final was played today. Congratulations to Leslie Irvine for the first winner of the Whalsay Snooker League shield and Gary Sandison was runner up.

Just be aware that the change machine doesn’t work with crumpled notes, make sure it’s pretty much flat when trying to get change out of it

We are thinking to maybe get a league going or a competition through the winter. A piece of paper will be pinned on the notice board in the club so you can add your name and mobile number if you are interested. It will be up later on this week so keep an eye out.
