A busy weekend of football for the young Shannocks.

Players of the Week:

Under 7’s: Noah F – Player of the Week!
Absolutely brilliant yesterday, especially those saves! Including a Penalty😱 Well deserved, Noah!

Under 8’s: Juliet won player of the match for under 8’s yesterday. She constantly battled through all her time on the pitch making some tough challenges and winning the ball.

Under 9’s: Yesterday the U10s played their first home game of the season and served up a very entertaining match.
The Shannocks went behind early against the run of play but responded brilliantly, turning the screw and scoring three quick goals through excellent team play and some superb passing combinations. Madra never gave up and fought their way back into the game before the newly formed U10s produced another fantastic team goal to seal an excellent performance.

Today's Player of the Match goes to Aldo. He was outstanding in the tackle, breaking up several Madra attacks, and his ball carrying was exceptional throughout, helping to keep the young Shannocks on the front foot. For this performance, Aldo gets the responsibility to take home our new team mascot! Thor!

Well done to the whole team, and thank you to Madra for a brilliant game of football.

Under 11’s: 🏆 Arlo 🏆
Performance of his life in the first half keeping a persistent and strong team out. Gave his team a chance to get something from the game. Later proving to be so important.

Second half was end to end with a last minute equaliser for Sheringham to make it finish 2-2. Fantastic team performance to not give up.
Well done ⚽️

Under 12’s: It’s Herbie. A tough game for the team today with no subs available but the team battled hard. Being up front Herbie didn’t see as much of the ball as he would like however EVERY single time he could get involved to chase down and press, tackle, run at the defence he was relentless and full of energy and fight.

Under 14’s: Well done to this weeks player of the week Brandon. Normally playing in goal today we let him off the leash. A very strong powerful performance grabbing himself a goal.

It was a good first half from the team, taking the lead twice, unfortunately running out of steam towards the end of the 2nd half but some positives we can take forward and lots of things for the team to continue working on.

Under 15’s: Captain Cody is today's POTM

Lead from the back like a Captain should!! Brilliant composure on the ball and winning tackles and headers against a very good front 3.

A special mention the the whole team who battled well and played some great football at times with no reward. But they all stuck at it and never gave up ⚽️

Another terrific turnout for our Mini Kickers session this morning! We’ve got 6 coaches so the more kids that turn out the better!!

Well the new season got underway this weekend, some great performances worthy of our returning Players of the Week!!

Under 7’s: So this was the first development game of our newly formed Under 7’s, the whole team got player of the week. First ever game, great listening and 100% commitment. Well done young Shannocks.

Under 8’s: The whole of Sheringham under 8’s are recognised this week. A strong start to the season with a competitive game against Wroxham working together to earn their result.

Special mention to Fin on his debut scoring two goals and Juliet scoring her first

Under 9’s: The weeks POTW was the whole team, playing there first game a year up. The boys have taken to 7 aside with ease and are showing some brilliant passing combinations which resulted in them scoring 10 goals. Next week we return to our home pitch. 🥰

Under 11’s: A great team performance in our first official 9 a side game. Every single player gave their all and played with great determination and effort. Far too difficult to single one player out as all of them deserve massive credit ⚽️

Under 12’s: Jack! A first ever League game for the team and a powerful performance from a Jack! He got what he deserved from his strong and physical yet skilful performance in creating our first and scoring our 2nd goal by picking the ball up in the halfway line and powering through their defence to then slot in the corner. Great performance and attitude from the rest of the team today too.

Under 14’s: Tyler: Well done to this weeks player of the match Tyler.

1st game of the season and a very slow start from the team, taking a while to get into the game and lucky to only be a couple goals down at half time.
2nd half completely different story, full of running effort and some good play, just unfortunate to not be able to covert pressure into goals but certainly were the better team in the 2nd period. All this good play was epitomised by Tyler who covered the whole pitch, stopping attacks with some hard tackles and creating chances the other end.

Under 15’s: Today POTW isToby!

Took the gloves due to an injury to our regular keeper and did a fantastic job.

Made many very good save and used his feet to pass and disrupte the ball very well.

Well done to all the young Shannocks this weekend!!

Well we all had a great time at Sheringham Carnival Parade last night! Ears are still ringing from the noise!

Our new U8’s team played their first ever tournament today and all had a great time starting their football journey.
