Happy New year!
We hope you had a lovely Christmas break. We are back to business this week and have been busy with centre maintenance in preparation to welcome our first schools of 2026, visiting next week! Hilltop has been looking very picturesque this week following recent snowfall and frosty weather.

A Norfolk council leader has urged the government to avoid putting all of Norfolk’s “eggs in one basket” by creating one single authority for the county.

Tim Adams, who heads North Norfolk District Council, called for three unitary councils to be created in what is to be the biggest shake-up in local government in decades.

Under the plans, district and county councils in Norfolk will be abolished to make way for one, two or three unitary authorities, which could be live by April 2028.

Mr Adams warned creating just one council for Norfolk could lead to an “avoidable crisis in service demand” that has been seen elsewhere in the country where they have a single council covering a large area.

Instead, he said the three-council model is the “most realistic” to deliver financial benefits while ensuring services are delivered and people feel adequately represented.

His comments come as cabinet members voted to support NNDC’s submission to ministers as part of the government’s consultation on the proposed reforms.

Labour ministers will decide how local government will be restructured this year.

Today’s group were successfully Dropped off at Hilltop Outdoor Centre for a week of adventures, and the trees immediately started shaking like they knew what was coming… Within 30 seconds:
▪️Someone screamed at a leaf
▪️Someone else declared themselves “Lord of the Zip Line”
▪️A third tried to befriend a pinecone

All in a days work when you 💛
