Not quite blue sky this morning with the weather definitely not playing ball.

But nonetheless, the greenkeeping team have been out early this morning cutting, rolling the greens and changing fresh holes ready for the men’s open.

We’d like to welcome everyone taking part and good luck in some testing conditions.

The course is looking and playing amazing with the greens running true and fast and other playing surfaces really improving over the past few weeks. The course is all prepared and ready to host the first order of merit, The Sherborne Salver, to which we have a new record of entries.

Course is looking fantastic and with lots of positive comments. The green keeping team are doing tasks everyday to improve the surfaces and the course in general.

This week the green keeping team were battling the tricky weather still but got some essential maintenance done.

- Verticut greens at 5mm depth
- very light top dress
- Double brushed, then once dried out even more, brush again to finish them off
- surfaces then rolled and holes changed, all whist being watered in.
- 9th bunker has been altered and low areas of bare soil have now been turfed and white lined accordingly
- tee’s and greens have been sprayed with wetting agents and a liquid feed
- and of course, more hand watering in the higher stressed areas.
