Dear customers,

As we have turned the corner into 2023 we would like to update you regarding our community lettings at The Gryphon Sports Centre. From the 1st March 2023, the sports centre will be managed by Schools Plus (www.schoolsplus.co.uk) who will not only be responsible for making and amending any bookings, but they will provide staffing and all support required to run our daily community lettings business on The Gryphon site.

Schools Plus have nearly 20 years experience in managing school lettings and we welcome their expertise in this area. They will handle booking requests from clubs and individuals for the sports hall, dance studio and astro pitches. We hope the new system will make it easier and more efficient for all our customers to book space with us.

Any current bookings on the system are being seamlessly transferred to Schools Plus this week and although, going forwards, there may be slight changes to booking and payment systems, Schools Plus will contact you directly to inform you of all new processes and systems. You will also be delighted to know that Susan, Community Lettings Coordinator, will be working with Schools Plus to provide your usual dedicated and personal service on site.

Unfortunately, we have had to make the difficult decision to cease monthly gym memberships as this provision is no longer viable. We apologise for the late notice to gym users - this was due to us exploring options to keep the gym open, but unfortunately this has not been possible.

We aim to have completed the transfer to Schools Plus by Wednesday 1st March, after which time, all communication will be directly with the Schools Plus team and not us. Please get in touch with them via their website or email [email protected]. Please do not message the Sports Centre page as that mailbox will be unmonitored going forwards.

We would like to thank Gary Knight and his team for their dedication in running The Gryphon Sports Centre over the last few years and we wish them well in their next endeavours.

Unfortunately the sports centre will be opening late / as soon as possible as Gary is stuck on the Yeovil to Sherborne link road in traffic after what appears to be a serious accident as Two fire engines, police etc have made way through the traffic queue’s. Apologies for the inconvenience but beyond our control. Will update and hope nobody is seriously injured.
