I currently have 3 spaces available for my 6:30am bootcamp sessions which are on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Don’t be afraid by the word “bootcamp”, the sessions are circuit style interval sessions combining body weight exercises and strength training using dumbells and kettlebells.

Small group with friendly people and atmosphere.
Inside my studio at the Bath and West showground.

It’s been a year of strength gains, increased fitness levels, rehab and most importantly having fun and building trusted relationships with you all.

I don’t take it for granted the trust you put in me and I love the job that I do.

Whichever you do, be consistent.

Posted • Should you track your food raw or cooked?

Bookmark this one for safe keeping, because this is a question I hear alllll the time.

Long story short: either way works just fine, but know that nutrition labels will ALWAYS list the raw weight, so it’s important to understand how cooked food differs from raw food.

If you were to track 8oz of chicken in your food tracking app, then weigh out 8oz of cooked chicken to eat, you’re actually consuming more calories than you are tracking.

8oz of raw chicken cooks down to (roughly) 6oz of cooked chicken.

That trips people up very often…how can 6oz of chicken be the same calories as 8oz of chicken? I know, it sounds confusing. But when you cook chicken, and most other food, it simply loses water weight.

And as you know, water is calorie free.

So cooked chicken weighs less simply because it has less water in it. The calories and macros remain exactly the same.

This guide isn’t going to be 100% accurate all the time (there are different cooking methods, sauces and seasonings, etc), but it’s a great way to get a very close estimate.

At the end of the day, you can track raw OR cooked… don’t sweat the technique. Just be aware that there are differences.

Hip thrusts are a great exercise for strengthening glutes whilst also incorporating hamstrings and core 🏋️‍♀️

Doing this on the bosu ball allows for greater movement than on the floor but can also feel more comfortable than of a bench.

Always good to have options and try different ways.

Freddie absolutely smashing his 1000m row PB yesterday! 💪🏼

Inspiring health and fitness into the next generation is so important and something he sees daily in the gym and keeping active at home whether that’s playing footy in the garden or when we take Hugo out for a walk (although the later tends to combine a hot chocolate - everything in moderation and slight bribery!)

Whatever works for you and your family is key, keeping moving fun and part of your everyday or weekend activities!

Happy New Year from a very cold Woolacombe sea! 🌊

My happy place is by the sea, so today we ventured to the beach for the day and started of 2023 the best way we know ☀️

A refreshing dunk in the sea also helped clear the cobwebs away!

Back home this evening and looking forward to starting back tomorrow, catching up with everyone and helping my clients achieve their fitness and lifestyle goals for 2023.

The sign is up…

I’ve now been on site at The Royal Bath & West Showground for nearly three years. I remember excitedly getting the studio in January 2020 and frustratingly three months later we were in lockdown.

It hasn’t been an easy ride, I’ve had to say bye to clients who I had the pleasure of training for so many years, but with that brought new opportunity and the people who I train today.

So what I’m saying is, this just isn’t a sign, but me proudly standing by my personal training studio, incredibly lucky to have such brilliant clients and excited for what’s to come in 2023 💪🏼
