Nice to see so many coming out for our spring social Curry night last Friday, lots of good food and drink and plenty of chat about football was had by all.

Another fun evenings entertainment and exercise for 16 mature gentlemen down on the Astro pitch in Shepton on Monday. The game itself saw the red bibs come out on top 4-2 although it could easily have been the other way around.

Remember you are never to old to get back to playing football or even take it up for the first time and walking football is the game to play

Some pictures from last Months Walking Football Festival down at Street. This was our first tournament and we played 6 games winning 2 drawing 3 and loosing just the one game. Much fun was had by all and made all the practice on Monday nights worth while and we are already looking forward to playing again on May 7th.

If anyone fancy’s giving it a go we meet on Monday nights in Shepton on the Astro turf at 7pm all are welcome what ever there football level just be prepared to have fun.

As we are looking to do more tournaments in the future we are looking to purchase a proper football strip for the team so if there are any local business in Shepton that would like to sponsor us and help with the strip that would be wonderful

Our biggest turn out for many a year saw us play a 9 aside game on Monday, a game the red bibs won 3-2. This was great preparation for our first Friendy Tournament at Strode on Thursday report to follow .

Always looking for new players so if you think being old can do one and you fancy te living younger days why not give walking football a go

Another fantastic game on Monday saw the blue bibs narrowly hold out for a 7-5 win latching on to a weak clearance from the Red Keeper as the reds were pushing for the equaliser. But the main winners was 15 old men all having fun and reliving their youth.

Christmas is over and a new year just begun with promises of fitness and new things.

Sound familiar well if it does and your over 50 why not try Walking Football, it’s fun competitive and sure to help older bones stay young at heart

Another mighty struggle down on the Astro at Walking Football were the blue bibs narrowly beat the red bibs in a hard fought game.
The real winner was the fun we have whether on the pitch or afterwards talking about it over a pint at the local hostelry.
