On Sunday we progressed to round 2 of the County Cup, coming out on top in a hugely entertaining fixture at Morley Lane.

Corey Chantrill's fifth Shepshed century led us to 263/5, with Langtons falling just short - Soyab Salajee registering a hundred of his own for the visitors. Langtons were always in the game with Will Goss' 4-44 just tipping the game in our favour.

At Morley Lane the first team played out a nerve shattering tie with Barrow Town. Lakshay led us to what felt like a below par 235 in the first innings with support from Ben and Cam, before a second innings that could have gone either way. Jaylen and Guesty sharing three wickets apiece.

The 2s recorded a big win on the road thanks to another good team performance with the bat getting us up to 224. Lister leading the way with an unbeaten 63 before Benji took his third haul of the season to help bowl out the hosts for 157.

The 3s run of wins came to an abrupt halt as we were bowled out for just 77 in pursuit of 133. Plenty of positives in the first innings though including a brave 5fer for Harry Sloan.

Another win the fours who edged a fantastic game - Owen and Scrimmy helping restrict the visitors to 169 before a second consecutive half century from Kerad put us in the driving seat. A couple of special mentions to Oliver on league debut and Max from marshalling the chase like a veteran!

Four more Saturday fixtures as we enter Week 9 of the season - the 1s and 4s at home hosting Barrow Town and Packington, while the 3s make the long trip to Asian Sports and the 2s travel to Rothley Park.
