Littleton Sailing Club

Littleton Sailing Club Littleton Sailing Club actively promotes dinghy sailing in a safe environment. Adults and families are all welcomed. The club is situated on an attractive lake, near Shepperton in Surrey and easily accessible from the M25, M3 and M4. We offer year round dinghy racing and cruising, windsurfing and stand up paddleboarding. Adults can learn to sail on one of our RYA training courses, while junior members start learning in a relaxed fun environment and can go on to take RYA certificated courses if they wish. New members are welcome!

Littleton Sailing Club enjoys exclusive use of a picturesque lake of some 80 acres between Shepperton and Chertsey in Surrey.

There are about 500 members in total. Littleton Sailing Club was officially opened in June 1958, as a Division of the Civil Service Sailing Association, and their first dinghy club.

Membership is no longer restricted to civil servants or public sector employees past

and present, however if you are a member of the Civil Service Sports Council (CSSC) you can enjoy discounted membership.

There is club racing at weekends throughout the year and on Thursday evenings during the summer months. Members can also cruise, or take part in our informally run improver sessions on Wednesday evenings during the summer. Adopted dinghy classes are Solos, Lasers, Optimists and sailboards. Stand up paddleboarding and windsurfing are permitted, and in addition there is also an active sailing dinghy handicap fleet. The club calendar gives all the details of our sailing programme throughout the year.

Littleton Sailing Club is an RYA Affiliate club offering dinghy sailing courses leading to RYA certification for adults and young people.

Summer is a beautiful time to introduce the kids and grandkids to the sport you grew up loving yourself as a child. The kids (of all ages) love the capsize practice, buoyancy aid fit tests, and the games in their boats afloat. Not much better than hearing the kids say, "I loved it. That was so fun".

Have you introduced your kids or grandkids to sailing? What got them hooked? Share your stories.

We promised a fun, sunny day afloat and a massive win over Erling Haaland and his team—and guess what? Both came through beautifully! Who needs Wimbledon or the Round the Island Race when you can prepare for a massive victory and catch some wind at the same time?
Yesterday's Open Day was the ultimate day of on-water action. We had total beginners getting their first taste of the breeze with our taster sails, while others kept it chilled with some beautiful, relaxed cruising. For the adrenaline junkies, the dinghy sailing races brought the drama, but the absolute highlight? The paddle boards. The wind picked up, and we had people catching crazy high speeds, blasting on SUP sails up and down the lake!
From our fearless Youth Squad to new sailors and returning sailors catching up on refreshers, it was pure family fun in the sunshine.
Naturally, we wrapped up an epic day of winning with good tunes, legendary galley treats (oh that cake!!), and well-earned bar drinks.
Just Littleton being the fun club we are.
Thank you to all members and guests for the unforgettable day.
Share the memories. Follow us for more photos.
