This afternoon we entertain Teddington BC at home. It’s our second home friendly match of the weekend!

LAST TIME WE MET: Duppas play Teddington once a season, so last met them back on the 14th September 2025 on a very wet and windy afternoon in Shepperton. It was a close match, but Duppas just edged it and won 61-56.

** NEXT MATCH - BISHOP DUPPAS v SUNNINGDALE BC - FRIENDLY MATCH
SATURDAY 12th SEPTEMBER 2026 2.30pm (HOME)

Following defeats against Hampton and Walton, Duppas have responded strongly, recording successive victories over Westfield and Ember to leave them unbeaten in their last two matches.

However, they face a stern test on Saturday afternoon when they welcome Sunningdale BC to Duppas for a friendly encounter.

The Berkshire-based side have proved difficult opponents in recent meetings, with Duppas failing to beat Sunningdale in three of their last four encounters. Duppas will be hoping to improve that record and claim another victory when the two sides meet again on Saturday.

LAST TIME WE MET

The last meeting between the two clubs ended in a heavy 108–81 shots defeat for Duppas on 25th April 2026, in a match played over six rinks early in the season.

The fixture also saw Margaret Tredre make her debut for Duppas. Her first appearance as lead was praised in the captain’s report, with her performance described as “contributing towards her rink’s win” — a rink skipped by Clare Collins.

Duppas will be looking to put the result from April firmly behind them and continue their recent run of form when Sunningdale visit on Saturday.

LAST TIME WE MET: We last met the Esher team back on the 13th May 2026 at their green in KT10. Duppas won that match overall with the 5 mixed triples skipped by; Dave Golding,
Bob Donoghue, Harry Gershfield, Hillary Cartwright and Peter Taylor.

Good morning everyone!

Our green team were once again up at the crack of dawn preparing our green for another day of bowls. The weather is looking ideal for it too ☀️! Unfortunately our match today was cancelled as the opposition were unable to raise a team, however, we are holding an internal roll up instead, meeting at 2pm with play starting around 2.30pm.

*** NEXT MATCH *** SATURDAY 5th SEPTEMBER 2026 - BISHOP DUPPAS V WESTFIELD BC (HOME) FRIENDLY MATCH ***

Duppas welcome Woking based Westfield BC to TW17 tomorrow for a friendly fixture.

Duppas will be looking to bounce back from two consecutive defeats against Walton and Hampton in our earlier midweek fixtures, as we return to the green tomorrow.

The two sides last met on Saturday 6th September 2025, in another friendly played here in Shepperton, with Westfield coming out on top overall.

The fixture between the two clubs dates back to 2021, when the annual one off friendly was first agreed. Originally played earlier in the season in April, the fixture was later moved to early September, where it has remained ever since.

With both sides familiar with the fixture and the friendly rivalry that has developed over the years, tomorrow promises to be another enjoyable contest on Duppas Green.

***DUPPAS FALL SHORT AGAINST HAMPTON, BUT THE TITLE IS STILL IN SIGHT! ***

In a closely fought contested final South Middlesex League fixture in Shepperton, Duppas went down 61–71 to Hampton BC, taking 4 league points to Hampton’s 6. It’s a disappointing blow for league leaders Bishop Duppas, who now must wait for results elsewhere before knowing whether or not they are league champions.

The afternoon was finely balanced across the four rinks, with Duppas winning 2 rinks and Hampton taking the other 2. However, Hampton edged the overall shot count, picking up a few 4’s and a 5 securing the extra league points on overall aggregate score.

Despite the defeat though , Duppas can be hugely proud of their league campaign. 🟨🟪

Having started the day at the top of the South Middlesex League table, Duppas must now wait for the remaining fixtures to be completed before discovering whether they have done enough to claim the 2026 league title or finish as runners-up.

The title race is officially going down to the wire! 🏆👀

Duppas play their final South Middlesex League fixture of the season this afternoon, welcoming Hampton BC to Shepperton.

Duppas currently sit top of the table, and a victory by 6 points or more this afternoon will be enough to confirm them as 2026 South Middlesex League champions! 🏆

Hampton arrive in Shepperton sitting 6th in the table and will be looking to finish their league campaign on a high, so we’re expecting another competitive afternoon on the green.

👀 LAST TIME WE MET

Duppas last travelled to TW12 on 31st May 2026, where the SML fixture finished all square at 73–73, with both clubs taking 5 league points.

It was a slow start for Duppas, who initially struggled to get to grips with the Wensleydale Road green. However, they eventually found their rhythm, with wins for the rinks skipped by Dai Rees and Harry Gershfield.

Kev Hoare’s triple narrowly missed out by just one shot, while Paul New’s side battled back strongly late on to ensure the overall score finished level.

Can Duppas finish the season in style and seal the title this afternoon? 👀🏆
