So here it is…the final round of fixtures for the 2023 season and a HUGE week for the Village.

Wins for the 2s and 3s would see both sides gain promotion from their divisions. Massive good luck to all the lads playing 🤞

Would be great to see everyone in the bar at Shenley after the games to hopefully celebrate a hugely successful season and 3 promotions! 🍻

Results from week 17 of the Herts league 🏆🏆

1st XI wrapped up the championship title and confirmed promotion to the Premier League for the first time. This followed a very wet washout at Hoddeson, after restricting them to 223 off 50 overs.

2s beat the weather to have a remarkable win, with results elsewhere meaning they are now up into 2nd place going in the final round. 95* from and 80 from were the standout performers 👏👏

3rd XI had the worst of the weather conditions meaning they fell to an 8 wicket defeat to rivals Mill Hill. However, the 3s also stay in 2nd place going into round 18.

4th XI were beaten by the weather on a pretty miserable afternoon across Herts.

Some HUGE games next week meaning SVCC could end the year with 3 promotions!

Todays abandonment means the 1st XI have won the Championship and for the first time ever, Shenley Village CC is a Premier League club ❤️

Wins for the 1s and 3s would guarantee promotion for both sides 🤞🤞

2s and 4s both looking to finish the season well and bounce back from losses last week.

Huge day of cricket coming up tomorrow with all sides having important games.

The 1st XI host with a win sealing the title and promotion to the Premier League. Good luck lads 🤞🤞

2s travel to needing to win to keep their promotion hopes alive.

3s have a massive top of the table clash away at with a win going a long way to sealing promotion this year.

4s are looking to build on a good run of form at home to .

Good week for the club with 1s, 3s and 4s all winning.

1s just about continued their 12 match winning streak, scraping home by 1 wicket in a rain affected game. Taking the last 4 wickets for 1 run meant Reed were bowled out for 198. In reply, Will Thomson (45) and Ollie White (33) led the chase but regular wickets left us on the brink of defeat. However, Kris Nissen and 14 year old Matty Evans were the hero’s knocking off 25 runs either side of a rain delay to see us home.

A very disappointing day out for a strong 2s side saw them fall to defeat to rivals Broxbourne, with a very average bowling performance meaning the oppo chased 203, 6 wickets down. 2s now fall to 3rd and will really have to win the last 3 games to have any chance of promotion.

3s had a great win over 3rd place Luton, winning comfortably by 6 wickets. Ciaran Woodcock (3-10) led the way with the ball, bowling Luton out for just 104. This hopefully sets the 3s up for promotion with 3 games left.

4s also had a good win against Flitwick, with a great run chase meaning a 6 wicket win. A solid run of form for the 4s sees them hopefully heading for a good mid table finish.

3 games left and hopefully 3 promotions still possible so lots of hard work left to do 🤞🤞

14 YEAR OLD MATTY EVANS THE HERO FOR THE 1s 🔥🔥🔥

9 down, 17 needed off 4 overs Nissen and Evans see us home, with Matty carving a beautiful shot over backward point for the win. 😍

1s travel to Reed looking to continue their unbeaten season whilst 2s host a huge game v promotion chasing .

3s also have a huge potentially promotion deciding day away at with the 4s looking to continue their form at home to .

Looks likely to be another wet weekend but some big fixtures tomorrow for the Village.

1s face a potential promotion defining game at home to rivals in what promises to be a brilliant game. Praying that the ☔️ stays away!

2s look to keep their winning streak going away at whilst the 3s also look to keep their promotion push on against .

4s hoping to make it back to back wins v OAs.
