Bronte managed to secure a bronze medal in the u64 class with a 81kg sn**ch and a 96kg clean and jerk these are both comp pbs! 🔥🔥

Harvey landed the silver medal in the u73kg class with a 110kg sn**ch and a 131kg clean and jerk! Hitting his first 110kg pb! 🔥🔥

👊🏽Sometimes when coaching people, you let yourself and your training take the back seat as you focus on others. 🥲

As a result things can end up pretty rough.. 🍰

I decided to hold myself accountable just as I do with my clients… 🏋🏻‍♂️

Fast forward 6 months and I’ve transformed myself back to something I’m proud of… 🔥

No crazy tricks here… I’m 35, I have 3 kids and I work. I didn’t make any excuses and I just stuck to it.

With techniques such as the sn**ch and the clean & jerk, consistency with the movements are paramount in creating natural motor patterns without thinking.

The goal is to be able to lift without having to think or focus on to many things but just 1 simple cue. 🧠

Then to engrain that movement pattern so it looks the same or very similar every single time.

A very niche and specialised sport that takes years of practice to do and even longer to master.

If you’re interested in learning the sn**ch, clean and jerk or even the general strength movements around them to help with sports specific S&C don’t ask your local Pt at a commercial gym, ask a specialist coach who has an intimate knowledge of teaching the lifts safely and correctly 🙌🏻

🏋️ The Clean🏋️

We arnt talking about clearing the dinner plates 😂. The clean is one of the fundamental movements of Olympic Weightlifting, bringing the bar from the ground to then shoulders in one fluid motion. This is arguably the least technical but the most strength orientated of the lifts. 👌🏼

But nothings more impressive than walking up to a bar and people thinking your about to deadlift it and boom 💥 it’s on your shoulders 🤯
