Today's game was one that marked where we first began, where we are now, and where we want to go. 🏏🗺️
It was a match to remember. 🌟
For the first time, we arrived early before the opposition. 🚀 A small moment, perhaps, but a sign of how far we have come. 📈
We warmed-up and looked ready from the start. 🔥
Then came the toss. 🪙 We lost it, much to one of our teammates dismay. 😔 Her immediate response was: “Tails does fail! What did you pick that for?” 😤 After all, it had lost the previous two weeks as well. 🤦♀️
Worsbrough Bridge CC elected to put us in to bat first. 🏏
Our innings was full of energy and intent: a few wickets, plenty of boundaries, lots of runs, and the same passion that has been there since our very first game. 💪 We were hungry to perform and finished on 269. 💯
With the ball, every bowler played their part, each delivering an over to every pair. ⚾ There was some fabulous bowling, backed up by excellent fielding. 🧤
Our improvement since those early days was clear to see. 👀 We protected the boundary brilliantly, restricting the number of fours and making the opposition work hard for every run. 🏃♀️
Worsbrough bridge CC closed on 252. 🏁
It was a great game and we got the win. 🎉
But this match meant more than the result. 💖
It represented our progress, our determination, and our desire to keep improving. 🚀
It also highlighted something even more important: the community we have built. 🤝 Before March, many of us had never known. 🤔
Now, we are part of something special that brings joy not only to the players, but also to the coaches, families, and friends who support us every step of the way. 🥳
Today was about more than just playing ladies cricket. 🏆 It was about how far we have come together and how much more we can achieve. 🌟✨
