We always take part in the Gala and would love some of our members/parents to help out with this:

CALLING PEOPLE OF PENISTONE & SURROUNDING AREAS - WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Many of you may know about the lovely event we throw every year, a community event to bring our little town together and have a fabulous day out with friends and family. But we need your help..We are a very small group of volunteers who work extremely hard to put this wonderful event on each year. But the sad reality is that we are struggling. Our numbers have seriously dwindled over the years and we are facing a decision of whether or not we are even able to throw the event next year due to the lack of volunteers.
This is where you come in…we are looking for volunteers to help us organise the event, you can donate as little or as much time as you can to help us make decisions around the event, put things in place and help the event go ahead. If you would like to help..our next meeting is on the 12/10/2026 at 7pm at St John’s Community Centre. We could really love it if you could come ☺️

An apology.
As the weather turns autumnal it is not uncommon for a friendly spider to be discovered in the Centre.
We catch such spiders and help them
Outside. This evening the spider was of an impressive size. So impressive I thought I would show him to the parents in the spectator area.
We were all suprised when the spider sprang out of the cup. One or two or more parents let out a “scream.”
I caught the spider and immediately released him/her outside.
I was told by one of the participants in the class that I was cruel and as such should apologise.
I hereby apologise to the spider for any distress caused. 🕷️

Dear parents
As your children return to school other parents may ask you about the activities your child does. Please don’t mention the “K” word. Please say they go to Taekwondo at Quest with Mike.
I know of children who have had to suffered due to this mistake in the past.
