BIG Running Weekend

Join us on Sunday 23rd April at the Ecclesall Woodland Discovery Centre for their Spring in the Woods event!

Spring in the Woods is a celebration of everything the Woodland Discovery Centre do in Ecclesall woods. There will be guided walks, food stalls and activities for all families.

We will be organising a led run following the Outdoor City Red Route, 14km. It will be on a mixture tracks and trails which heads out into the Peak District. It will be a social run starting at 10am. Carry a spare layer and dress for the weather.

We are back at Ecclesall Woodland Discovery Centre with some running session on Sunday 2nd October. This is part of Feast in the Forest- so there will be plenty of stuff going on between the runs including food stalls, crafts, tree walk and much more. We have a Woodrun at 10:30am, Led 10km run at 12pm and Outdoor Strength Session at 2pm. All abilities welcome. See you all there.

All profits from the Big Running Weekend and your kind donations have been donated to the British Red Cross Humanitarian aid in support of the situation in Ukraine.

We managed to raise £800 which is just amazing as this will help so many people.

We would like to thank everyone who came to the Big Running Weekend and to those who donated over the weekend.

Save some space for these dates in your calendar. 6th, 7th & 8th of October 2023

Yes, it’s a new time of year. Yet, it also gives every runner time to assess their running and racing year. The focus will be on how the BIG Running Weekend can ‘Support your Running’ going forward. So plenty of coached sessions, guided runs and workshops. Not only that, we are coming up with new ideas for topics to cover for the talks.

There was lots of laughs and smiles across the weekend from all of the different workshops, technique sessions and led runs.

Let's have look back at some of the sessions. Starting with the junior fun and games lead by Keith. Fun and competitive games got everyone in the mood for what was to come for the rest of the day.

You gotta love a classic game of rock, paper, scissors!

The Big Running weekend is over for this year but the competition still stands!!

For those of you who went to the Big Running Weekend, we have partnered up with Saucony so you have a chance at winning a pair of Saucony Peregrines!!!

All you need to do is post a picture that you have from the weekend, tag and we will message the person with the best photo by the end of the week. This could be any photo you have from the weekend, either from one of the workshops or a lovely view from one of the led runs.
