MATCH REPORT π
Yesterday, the Forgers travelled to face Bentley Arlfc with our Under 7s and a combined Under 9/10s side. A huge thank you to Bentley for their hospitality throughout the morning.
With numbers tight for the Under 7s, Bentley split into three teams of four, giving the Forgers three competitive matches against well-drilled opposition. Every player rose to the challenge, showing great effort, teamwork and determination throughout.
Special mentions this week go to:
Jacob β added a real passing dimension to his game, bringing teammates into play brilliantly.
Lucas β led the line tirelessly and capped his performances with well-earned tries.
Ida β showed fantastic improvement in attack and defence across the morning.
Harry β could sidestep his own shadow while defending relentlessly with hands like tag magnets!
The Under 9/10s faced a skillful Bentley side from the Yorkshire League. Splitting into two teams ensured everyone got valuable game time and, despite a slow start, the Forgers grew into the matches with strong carries and committed tackling. The squad should be proud of how they stood up to quality opposition.
Elias was a constant threat in attack with his elusive running causing problems for the Bentley defence. Jacob and Gregory earned Opposition Players of the Match thanks to powerful carries and big defensive hits, while Dylan finished off some excellent long-range tries.
Harvey was deservedly named Forgers Player of the Match after an outstanding all-round display. His line running, kicking and leadership throughout the day were exceptional.
A brilliant morning of rugby and fantastic to see the progress being made every week. Up the Forgers! πͺπ
