It is with a heavy heart that we hear the news of the passing of the one and only Phil Winston.
​To the wider dance world, Phil was a brilliant choreographer, a dedicated teacher, an IDTA Director Emeritus, and a creative force who shaped the world of dance for decades. But to us at the Fox Valley Festival of Dance, he held a very special place in our hearts.

​Phil was our very first adjudicator. When we were just starting out, he brought his immense talent, wisdom, and passion to our stage, setting a standard of excellence and encouragement that we strive to uphold every single year. We will always be deeply grateful for the belief he showed in our festival and our dancers from day one.
​He was taken far too soon, but the legacy he leaves behind in the generations of dancers he inspired will live on forever.

Fox valley ​send our deepest sympathies and love to his family, friends, and everyone at Phil Winston's Theatreworks. Rest in peace, Phil. You will be so incredibly missed.

The talent on stage was incredible, but it’s the community behind the scenes that makes this event what it is. We are so grateful for your continued support
