I’m not the coach with all the answers. Never have been.

I’m not perfect. Not as a coach. Not as a person. Never have been, never will be.

I get things wrong. I say the wrong thing sometimes. I second-guess myself more than people would ever think looking in from the outside. But here’s what I don’t get wrong, I CARE, WE CARE.

That’s messaging a parent back on a Saturday night because their kid had a bad day. That’s sending a voice note back at 9pm because a client’s just messaged me about their match. That’s wishing someone good luck when I know they’ve had bad news that morning. That’s telling a kid the truth when it’d be easier to just tell them what they want to hear.

There’s a lot of good coaches out there. A lot of talented people doing what I do. So what actually makes the difference?

It’s not the cones. It’s not the drills. It’s not even the football half the time.

We don’t just change how a kid plays on a pitch. We change how they see themselves off it.

I’ll keep getting things wrong. I’ll keep showing up anyway to help these kids.
