Established in 2014, the Sheffield Steelkings compete in the British Para Ice Hockey League. The Sheffield Steelkings currently consists of two teams;
Our senior squad, the Steelkings, and our development 'B-Team' squad - the Steel'Stings'
Para ice hockey is a fast paced, highly skilled, physical team sport. Enabling people with lower-body disabilities and impairments to compete alongside able-bo
died members, and those from all backgrounds, to take to compete together. Due to the increase in numbers, 2019 saw our development team formed (which included the league's first 15 and 16 year old players compete). Following a two year hiatus due to covid-19, the Stings completed their first BPIHL season in 2022. Earning their first ever victory and a place in the playoffs too. To grow the club and the sport further, plans are now in development for a full Sheffield Steelkings junior team to be established in the future. Both Steelkings squads play and practice out of our home rink of IceSheffield (Coleridge Road, Sheffield, England).
