Join us for the Captains Race Night this Friday (18th Sept), an evening of racing, good company and plenty of fun while raising money for three fantastic causes.

The first race gets underway at 7:30pm and entry is completely FREE, with members, friends and guests all very welcome. Pie & peas will be available for £10 per person, with advance booking required through your member app.

All money raised on the evening will support the Alzheimer's Society, St Luke's - Sheffield's Hospice and Camps International Costa Rica.

Get a group together, pick your winners and come along to support the Captain and three very worthy causes!

The Challand Cup is our scratch knockout competition with the best players in the club vying for the coveted title.

This years final was played between Mike Brown & Harrison Hall.

A fantastic achievement for Mike to reach the final playing off a handicap of 5 to then be playing against Harrison who has represented our first team all year and a handicap of -0.5.

The result was a win for Harrison in what we are sure will be the first of many wins.

Well done Harrison who now moves down to St Mellion to start his golf scholarship.

It's greens maintenance week which are essential works and hard work for the team.

We are delighted to have recently been donated a fascinating piece of Hillsborough Golf Club history.

Fred Keys Greenkeeping notes dating from the 1950s, have been kindly passed back to the Club by Fred’s grandson, via our member Andrew Shaw.

Fred was a greenkeeper at Hillsborough and a member of the British Golf Greenkeepers’ Association, and the book contains his handwritten notes on subjects including his course maintenance routine.

Alongside the book are Fred’s original membership documents and correspondence from the Club.

It is wonderful to see these items return to Hillsborough more than 70 years later, giving us a small insight into how our course was cared for by previous generations.

England Golf are with us for a second day as they hold their England Senior Series North Regional Final at HGC.

We're delighted to welcome them and their competitors to the course and full credit to our greens team for the fantastic job they are doing with the course! 👏🏻

Well done to the team of Paul Siddall, Dan Wood, Lee Precious and Dan Darby on winning this years Am-Am with a great score of 89 points.

This team was organised by our past Captain, Phil Dooley, who have played together in this event for the past four years through their Network Rail connections.

Phil played in the team for the first 2 years but got struck down by a very rare illness called Neuro sarcoidosis which now prevents him from playing, however he was there supporting his team to victory. An extra bonus on the day was that team member Dan Wood hit the longest drive on the 11th hole.

Phil continues to battle his illness and we wish him all the best in his recovery.

Overall it was a good day for everyone who played and thank you to the volunteers who help make the day run smoothly.
