❤️THANK YOU, STEVE!❤️

Today we say a very special goodbye to our General Manager, Steve, as he finishes an incredible 35-year journey with us.

Steve has worked across multiple sites throughout his career, but an amazing 22 of those years have been right here at Hillsborough Leisure Centre.

Throughout his time at Hillsborough, Steve has been so much more than a General Manager. He has always gone above and beyond for his staff, supporting his team, helping wherever he could and making sure everyone felt valued. He’s always been someone the team could turn to, and his dedication to both the centre and the people who work here has made a huge difference. 🙌

We’re incredibly grateful for everything Steve has done for Hillsborough and for the memories, laughs and hard work he has shared with so many of us over the years.

From everyone at Hillsborough Leisure Centre, thank you for everything, Steve!❤️

Aquatics GB, in partnership with Scottish Swimming and Swim England, is looking for young people aged 12–16 with a background in gymnastics, acrobatics, trampoline or similar sports to take part in the Fast Track Talent Transfer programme.

This exciting opportunity could help talented young athletes transfer their skills into diving and begin their journey through the sport’s talent pathway 🙌

Yeva is a very deserving recipient of Gymnast of the Month. She consistently gives every session her very best and approaches each challenge with such a positive and determined attitude.
Recently Yeva achieved both her cartwheel and handstand which is a fantastic accomplishment and a wonderful reflection of how hard she has been working. What makes Yeva particularly special is that even when something is difficult, she never gives up. She always has a smile on her face and is willing to keep trying until she succeeds.
Yeva is an absolute pleasure to teach. She gives 100% to everything she does, brings so much enthusiasm to every session and never fails to make us laugh. Her determination, positivity and wonderful personality make her a joy to have in the gym.
Well done Yeva! You should be incredibly proud of yourself — you are doing brilliantly! 🌟

Wazeeba is one of our receptionists here at Hillsborough Leisure Centre. She’s probably one of the familiar faces you’ll see when visiting our centre!❤️

Wazeeba has been part of the Hillsborough team for 3 years and is always there to welcome our members with a smile! 😊

🎹 Fun fact: Wazeeba can play the piano!

🥔 Funny fact: Wazeeba is OBSESSED with crisps! If she isn’t turning up with 5+ packets of crisps a day for her shift, then it’s not Wazeeba!😅 (we all know who to come to when we get hungry at work)🫢

John is one of our Fitness Motivators here at Hillsborough Leisure Centre and has been part of the team for the past 4 and half years! 🏋️‍♂️

As well as supporting our members in the gym, John is also a Personal Trainer and runs a variety of fitness classes, helping people stay motivated, active and reach their goals with our you+ membership 💪🔥

Fun fact: John has served in the royal airforce for 24 years! Funny fact… John can drink 16 pints of Guinness in one session/night out🍺✈️😂
