The Transplant Games Bowls Competition took place yesterday at Hillsborough Park Bowling Club, adjacent to our lawn.
Rita (in the black dress) and her husband were there and came over to take a look at what our members were up to. She shared with us that she had a liver transplant at Addenbrooks in April and is now building her health back up. Rita eventually asked if she could have a go at croquet.
Our Treasurer, Pete, got her playing a game of GC doubles game with two more of our members; Rita enjoyed the experience so much that she is now going back to Northanptonshire to seek out a club.

We’re sad to report that several recently planted trees in Hillsborough Park have been vandalised. These trees were planted in partnership with Tramlines marking their love for the park with help from our hard working volunteers, to provide benefits for people and wildlife long into the future.

Repairing this damage costs time and money that could otherwise be spent planting and caring for more trees across the city. Please help look after our parks and report any incidents of vandalism.
