HTs School of Dance

HTs School of Dance HT's was founded in 1991 at St Aidan's Church where we still teach classes today. Helen started dancing at the age of 5 and has been hooked ever since.

We have been providing an excellent standard of dance tuition in the sheffield area for over 25 years, we teach a wide variety of modern dance styles including Disco Freestyle,Ballroom, Latin American, slow dance all within a friendly environment. She qualified in classical sequence just after her 17th birthday and has since took further qualifications in freestyle, Rock and Roll, Latin and Ballroom. Helen opened HTs School of Dance to pass on her passion for dance and to encourage individuality, personality and to promote self belief and confidence. HT's has trained many freestyle champions and has had children perform at the Crucible, Lyceum and Montgomery Theatre as well as at Wembley stadium. We have been providing an excellent standard of dance tuition in the Sheffield area for over 25 years. We teach a wide variety of modern dance styles in 3 locations, including Disco Freestyle, Ballroom, Latin American and slow dance, all within a friendly environment.

Wow 35 years ago today I started my own dance school.

Where have all those years gone.

The last few years with Covid /change of venues / broken heating / floods / roof problems have been a challenge to say the least.

But 35 years on we’re still here enjoying teaching.

Teaching is not just about the steps and routines.
We build confidence, wipe away tears, share laughter, celebrate every little win, and making great friendships memories along the way.

The trophies are wonderful, but watching a child grow in confidence, resilience and self-belief will always be the greatest reward.

I have so many great memories and taught many pupils now even bringing their own children to class.

To our dancers… thank you for trusting us with more than your dancing. It’s a privilege to be part of your journey. 💗

But a huge thank you has to go to my Mum , sister Marie and dance sister Justine.
I cannot thank them enough for all their support from organising, teaching and everything else in between.
Dancing doesn’t start when the classes start it’s all the work in between too.

I couldn’t possibly put every photo on but here’s a few great memories.

On our next Presentation Dance Evening we will celebrate.
