When I start working with you, the first thing we’ll do is map out your bespoke coaching package - one that tackles the habits or situations you are desperate to change or get rid of.

Week by week, we’ll focus on your plan, building in mini targets and accountability along the way.

You’ll be working with a coach who understands you fully and knows exactly how to help you achieve a mindset shift - one that’s geared towards true self worth and which helps you realise your potential.

If you’re feeling ready to tackle the behaviours that have been stealing your peace, get in touch with me now to book your free consultation - link in bio ⬆️

I’ve got two topics for tomorrow’s Permission Circle and I want your thoughts on which one to pick.

1. Not doing what you say you want to do
2. Staying longer than you should

And the wedding prep begins in earnest… just two days to go before I marry my best friend and soulmate, who I first clapped eyes on & instantly fell for back in 1993.

Eyelashes & nails done 💅🏻 today - and some more lovely cards dropped through the letterbox. Thank you 🙏🏼

I’m excited & full of gratitude that I’m marrying my teenage sweetheart on Thursday 🥳😍🙌 … counting down the hours ❤️

There is always a moment where you know that you know… but you let it pass.

You override yourself.

You might barely even register it happening, because it’s wrapped up in very plausible reasoning and excuses.

And that package is so convincing - because it looks like you, it sounds like you.

You’ve been telling yourself the same narrative for years, so of course you trust it.

It must be you.

Right?

Wrong.

It’s what happens when you lose sight of yourself - and what you actually want.

When your self-worth is low, you don’t trust your instincts.
You look outside of yourself.
You let other people lead.
You feel guilty for speaking up.

So you stay quiet.
You go along with things.
You override what you know.

This is the work I’m moving into more and more now.

Not fixing surface behaviours. Not becoming someone new.

But rebuilding that self-trust.

So you stop deferring.
Stop second-guessing.
Stop abandoning yourself.

I’ll be talking a lot more about this over the next few weeks in The Permission Circle.

(And yes… wedding content incoming on Thursday 💫)

You can lose a lot of energy trying to manage what other people think of you.

Replaying conversations.
Second guessing what you said.
Filling in the gaps with worst case scenarios.

It feels important in the moment.
Like you’re protecting yourself.

But most of the time, you’re reacting to a story your mind has created… not reality.

And the cost is that you drift further away from yourself.

This week in The Permission Circle ⭕️
we’re looking at why this happens
and how to step out of it without having to shrink, fix or explain who you are.
Sunday, 6pm BST via Zoom

I’ve just put something new on Etsy.

It’s based on the idea of the Anti-Self - that part of your brain that completely undoes all your good intentions (especially when it comes to drinking).

This is a simple reset to help you spot it, call it out, and stop letting it run the show.

It’s not about willpower. It’s about understanding what’s actually going on.

Aged 50.

And finally realising something that would have been useful information about 30 years ago:

I don’t actually have to stay anywhere I feel small.

The strange power of midlife is this:

You stop negotiating your own worth.

You simply move towards the places where you are met properly.

Apparently talking to yourself is the first sign of madness.

Which used to worry me slightly… because I do it a lot.

But psychology actually shows that when you speak to yourself deliberately - especially using your own name - it can interrupt anxious spirals and stop your mind disappearing down those familiar rabbit holes.

It creates just enough distance for a calmer, wiser voice to step in.

That’s what we’re exploring in The Permission Circle tonight.

If your mind sometimes runs away with you, you might find it surprisingly useful.

We start at 6pm ⭕️ {Link in bio ⬆️} Everyone welcome 🙏

14/03/2026

The old saying goes that talking to yourself is the first sign of madness.

But there’s actually a very specific way of speaking to yourself out loud that can interrupt anxious thinking surprisingly quickly.

When you address yourself by name -
“Lucy… what’s going on here?”
“Lucy… take a breath.”

- you create a small amount of distance between you and the emotion.

Instead of being swallowed by the thought, you step outside it.

And from that place, it’s much easier to calm your nervous system and think clearly.

It sounds slightly ridiculous.

But there’s solid psychology behind why it works.

And if you’ve struggled with anxiety as much as I have over the years, you’ll probably find this technique surprisingly helpful.

I’ll be teaching exactly how and when to use it in The Permission Circle this Sunday at 6pm. Link in bio👆
