pecialise in teaching complete beginners to elite and Olympic level athletes and pride ourselves on our welcoming and friendly atmosphere, top quality facilities, and passionate, approachable and knowledgeable coaches. Wrestling was competed for in the first modern games in 1896. Wrestling is a non-striking sport, instead reliant on submissions and holds making it perfect for learning as a self defence technique not just a competative sport. At empower wrestling we teach both Greco-Roman and Freestyle wrestling at all weight levels. Wrestling is encouraged in US Schools, Colleges and Universities as part of both the curriculum and as an extra curricular activity. The movement and techniques learnt through wrestling have been shown to improve academic learning, focus and concentration. Our focus is to promote and provide these techniques in the UK. Professional traditional wrestling is not as commercialised as some of the other related contact sports. Yet still the majority of the worlds top MMA fighters have an origin in learning traditional wrestling techniques. Where it has become an intergral part of modern Mixed Martial Arts.
