Formed in 1867, Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA can claim to be the first County Football Association in the country to be established. It is the regional governing body for football and directly affects 120,000 people involved with grassroots football in the area every week. Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA has a twofold remit; firstly it governs and administers the game, which means providing

the infrastructure that actually allows the game to take place. Secondly Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA works hard to develop the game by increasing participation and raising standards, ensuring that as many people as possible, from whatever backgrounds, have opportunities to play the national game.
