Minster Cricket Club

Minster Cricket Club The Isle of Sheppey's largest cricket club offering both adult and junior cricket. You can find us opposite St George's School, Minster.

We are the only Clubmark accredited cricket club on the Isle of Sheppey. We run four Saturday League sides, one Sunday side, four midweek teams along with a full junior section of U16s, U14s, three U12s, U10s and U8s. We are always on the lookout for new players of any age and ability, and if you would be interested in joining our club, please contact club secretary Mark Tucker on 07912 994779. We

are a friendly family club that always welcomes players, spectators and families alike. Our home ground of Gilbert Hall boasts the nicest facilities on Sheppey with great views over the island. We now also have two pitches and sets of changing facilities at our ever expanding club.

🏏 JUNIOR SIXES 2026

Yesterday brought the curtain down on another junior season at Minster with our annual Junior Sixes tournament at Gilbert Hall.

A great way to finish the summer, with plenty of cricket played and, most importantly, all the kids out there enjoying themselves with their teammates.

A huge thank you to all of the players who took part yesterday and throughout the summer, and to all of the parents for your support, lifts, encouragement and everything else that comes with getting the kids to cricket each week!

Finally, a massive thank you to all of our coaches and volunteers who have given up their time throughout the season. Junior cricket simply wouldn’t happen without people willing to put the hours in.

That brings the cricket to a close for our juniors for another summer. Thanks to everyone who has been part of it! 🏏💛

🏏 TEAM NEWS | THE PENULTIMATE SATURDAY 🏏

Four senior sides are back in league action tomorrow as we head into the penultimate round of the season, with plenty still to play for across the club.

The 1st XI travel to Blackheath, the 2nd XI welcome Simba to Gilbert Hall, the 3rd XI make the trip to The Mote, while the 4th XI host Southfleet on the Nursery.

🌧️ The forecast might explain the mood of this week’s team-sheet background! Fingers crossed the weather plays ball and we can get all four games completed. 🤞

⏰ Earlier start times again this weekend, so make sure you check the team sheets for all the details.

🏏 FINAL JUNIOR TRAINING OF THE SUMMER! 🏏

Tomorrow evening brings our final Friday junior training session of the summer at Gilbert Hall! ☀️

It’s been another brilliant summer for our junior section, and we’d love to see as many of you as possible down for one last Friday evening together.

🕔 5–6pm — U12s & U10 Softball
🕕 6–7pm — Girls Only & U14/U16s

A huge thank you from all of the coaches to every player who has trained, played and represented Minster this summer. The enthusiasm and energy you bring each week is what makes the junior section what it is.

And an equally big thank you to all of the parents and families for the lifts, encouragement, volunteering and continued support throughout the season — it really is appreciated by everyone involved.

One final training session tomorrow before we round off the junior summer with our Sixes and Presentation Day on Sunday! 🏏🏆

🏏 THIS WEEK AT MINSTER CC

We’re into the penultimate round of the league season, with four senior sides in action on Saturday and still plenty to play for as we head towards the finish line.

It’s also the final week of our junior summer programme ❤️💛

🏏 Friday sees our final junior training session of the summer at Gilbert Hall, running from 5pm–7pm.

Then on Sunday, we round off another brilliant junior summer with our Junior Sixes from 10am, before the Junior Presentation & BBQ at 5pm — a chance to get everyone together and celebrate the season.

Plenty happening at the club across the weekend, so come down and support where you can!

A tough Saturday across the senior sides, with all four results going against us.

The 1st XI were beaten by Sevenoaks Vine by 4 wickets, despite James Thompson’s 51 and three wickets for A. Nijjar.

A difficult afternoon for the 2nd XI at Gravesend, while the 3rd XI came up against a strong Rodmersham batting display, with Sam Manser top scoring with 42 in reply.

The closest game of the day came for the 4th XI, who fell agonisingly short against Old Williamsonians. Josh Bradley led the way with an excellent 5-39, before Deegan Campbell’s 62 took the chase right down to the wire — Minster eventually finishing just one run short.

Not the results we wanted, but there are still two Saturdays to go and plenty left to play for.

A reminder that our Junior Sixes Tournament takes place this Sunday at Gilbert Hall, as we bring the curtain down on another fantastic summer of junior cricket at Minster CC! 🏆

Six players per team, six overs per innings and plenty of cricket to enjoy as our juniors take centre stage for one final time this summer! 🏏

And don’t forget, the day continues with our Junior Presentation & BBQ from 5pm, where we’ll celebrate the 2026 season together.

A reminder that tickets are still available for our 2026 Fundraising Draw, with some fantastic prizes up for grabs!

💰 1st Prize — £1,000 CASH
💰 2nd Prize — £500 CASH
💰 3rd Prize — £250 CASH
💰 4th Prize — £150 CASH
➕ 2 x £50 cash prizes and 50 other great prizes!

🏏 TEAM NEWS | SATURDAY 22ND AUGUST

Four senior sides are back in action tomorrow as we head into the business end of the season, with plenty still to play for across the club.

🏠 The 1st XI welcome Sevenoaks Vine to Gilbert Hall, while the 3rd XI are also at home on the Nursery against Rodmersham.

🚗 On the road, the 2nd XI travel to The Bat & Ball to face Gravesend, with the 4th XI taking on Old Williamsonians.

⏰ Please note the earlier start times this weekend, with the 1st and 2nd XIs getting underway at 11am, the 3rd XI at 12pm and the 4th XI at 12:30pm.

With just a few weeks of the season remaining, every game and every point matters. Any support around the grounds this weekend would be hugely appreciated! ❤️💛
