🥊 THE END OF A 23-YEAR CHAPTER 🥊
After 23 years, I’ve made one of the hardest and most heartbreaking decisions I’ve ever had to make.
With a very heavy heart, I have decided to close the doors of Sheerness Boxing Club.
This isn’t a decision I’ve made lightly, and it certainly isn’t one I ever thought I would have to make. For 23 years, this place has been such a huge part of my life. It has been far more than just a boxing club — it has been a second home, a place full of memories, friendships, laughter, arguments, hard work, sweat, tears, victories and defeats.
I’ve travelled up and down the country, shared some incredible experiences and watched so many people walk through those doors. I’ve seen people come and go, watched kids grow into adults, and hopefully, along the way, I’ve been able to make a difference to a few lives.
If I have helped even one person become a better, stronger or more confident version of themselves, then every late night, every weekend, every sacrifice and every difficult day has been worth it.
I want to say a massive THANK YOU to every single person who has ever walked through those doors.
Every boxer.
Every parent.
Every supporter.
Every friend.
Every person who came in for five minutes or stayed for years.
You all played a part in keeping Sheerness Boxing Club alive. Without you, there would never have been a 23-year journey to look back on.
To every coach who has given up their evenings, weekends and free time over the years — thank you from the bottom of my heart. You gave your time because you cared, and that will never be forgotten.
And to my brother Chris and Rich — there simply aren’t enough words.
For 23 years you have been by my side through the good times, the bad times and everything in between. You’ve supported me, helped me, listened to me and stood beside me when things were difficult.
I will always be grateful to you both. ❤️
And finally, to my family…
I’m sorry for all the time I’ve given to the club over the years. Sorry for the evenings, weekends, missed time and all the times the boxing club came first.
Thank you for putting up with it all for 23 years and for understanding why it meant so much to me.
I love you all. ❤️
Walking away from something that has been such a massive part of my life for 23 years is going to hurt more than I can put into words.
But sometimes, no matter how difficult it is, you have to make the decision that is right for you.
So this is goodbye to Sheerness Boxing Club.
Not goodbye to the memories.
Not goodbye to the friendships.
And certainly not goodbye to the people who have become part of my life along the way.
Those 23 years will always be a part of me.
Thank you for everything.
Thank you for believing in me.
Thank you for walking through those doors.
And most of all…
Thank you for making Sheerness Boxing Club what it was. 🥊❤️
Our final session will be at 7pm Wednesday 30th September 2026 everyone is invited old and current members
