Our friends at Milnrow Dynamos FC have received some heartbreaking news, and we're reaching out to our football family for support.

Several of our Shawside u14s Lionesses play up a year at Milnrow, and one of their players' mums, Sarah, is bravely fighting an ongoing battle with cancer. After exhausting all available treatment options through the NHS, Sarah and her family are now hoping to raise Β£200,000 to access private treatment.

The family have set up a fundraising page, and any donation – no matter how big or small – will make a real difference:

Please consider donating if you can, and help us share Sarah's story far and wide. Thank you for your support. πŸ’™βš½πŸ’›

The football was brilliant, but if we're honest, the five matches played against teams from Scotland, Iceland and across the UK were only part of the story.

Over the last four days, this incredible group of Shawside Juniors Girls U14s players, coaches and supporters have made memories that will last a lifetime. They've swum in the sea, ridden banana boats, built towering sandcastles, choreographed synchronised swimming routines, formed human chains along the lazy river, worn the wrong shoes, "borrowed" each other's sunbeds, and laughed more times than anyone could count.

The accusations started flying almost immediately when The Traitors game began, with suspicion, plotting and dramatic betrayals becoming a daily feature of the trip!

Most importantly, friendships have grown stronger, confidence has flourished, and everyone has shared an unforgettable experience together. Football brings us together, but it's moments like these that make our team feel like a family.

Core memories made. πŸ’™βš½οΈπŸ’›

What a fantastic start to our Shawside Juniors Girls u14s weekend at the Barcelona Girls Cup! They arrived yesterday and spent the day whizzing across the sea on banana boats and enjoying the beach, all whilst sleuthing to find the The Traitors UK hidden within their group. There's been challenges, murders and banishments. Billy Fletcher was voted by the players last night and revealed himself to be a Traitor 😳
The girls are now at the tournament and their first game against Sittingbourne ended 1-1.
Keep eyes peeled everyone for more football AND Traitor updates πŸ’™βš½οΈπŸ‘€πŸ’›

Tomorrow, our U14s girls set off on an incredible adventure as they fly out to Spain to compete in the prestigious Barcelona Girls Cup! πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡ΈπŸ†

The girls have worked tirelessly throughout the season, showing dedication, teamwork, resilience and a fantastic attitude both on and off the pitch. Now they have the opportunity to represent the club on an international stage and create memories that will last a lifetime.

We are all incredibly proud of every player and can't wait to follow their journey over the coming days. Good luck, girls – play with passion, enjoy every moment, and make us proud! πŸ’™βš½

As you know, Maisie was presented with the Lioness of the Year Award earlier this monthπŸ† This award recognises far more than football. It celebrates courage, resilience and determination in the face of adversity. Last year, Maisie was battling cancer. Throughout her journey, she showed incredible strength, and now she is back doing what she loves most – playing football with her teammates. She continues to inspire everyone around her both on and off the pitch. To support an amazing cause close to their hearts, Maisie's dad, David, is taking on the Manchester 10K to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, helping other young people facing the challenges that Maisie and her family have experienced.
If you would like to support David and help make a difference to young people affected by cancer, please consider donating here:

The u12s Lionesses played their final home game today at Crompton House before moving into the girls league next season. This pitch has been home to them for three and a half seasons of quality football, helping so many girls on their journeys in the game! It’s a place they’re really going to miss, and today definitely felt emotional looking around and remembering so many special moments.

Back to the football, and the girls were up against a strong GTAS side after the original opposition had to drop out. Missing three key players through illness and holidays, the girls showed exactly what this team is all about β€” determination, resilience and togetherness!

GTAS started brightly, but the Lionesses defended brilliantly and limited them to long-range efforts, all comfortably dealt with by Nellie. As the game went on, the girls grew in confidence, battled hard and began to outpower the opposition. A fantastic goal from Gabby proved to be the difference on the day ⚽πŸ₯…

Player of the Match goes to birthday girl Harriet πŸŽ‚πŸ† who captained the side superbly and absolutely thrived in the role.

Special shoutout πŸ“£to Seren for some outstanding tackles and an all-action defensive performance today.

One more fixture to go girls… what a season it’s been πŸ’™βš½οΈπŸ’›

U14s Lionesses battled through a super hot afternoon at the end of a long school term as they took on Altrincham Raptors. With tired legs and soaring temperatures, the girls showed determination, resilience and team spirit from the first whistle to the last.
Despite the heat making conditions difficult, every player continued to work hard for each other, pressing, supporting and never giving up. The Lionesses showed great character throughout the match and kept pushing right until the final whistle, producing some lovely passages of football along the way.
A huge special shoutout πŸ“£ to Izzy for scoring her very first goal! A brilliant moment and fully deserved after all of her hard work and effort this season.
Player of the Match was Isla πŸ† for an amazing all-round performance. Isla led by example throughout the game with her work rate, composure and determination, especially in such challenging conditions.
The girls should be proud of the effort, attitude and togetherness they showed on a very tough afternoon β€” a fantastic way to round off the season! πŸ’™βš½οΈπŸ’›
