As we get older, mobility isn’t a “nice to have” — it’s essential.

Being able to get up from the floor after a fall, move confidently, and stay independent can genuinely change quality of life.

What surprises many people is how quickly strength and mobility can decline. A short stay in hospital, a period of rest, or reduced activity can lead to a noticeable loss of balance, strength, and confidence far faster than most expect.

This is something I feel really strongly about. Staying mobile isn’t about chasing fitness goals — it’s about protecting your independence, confidence, and ability to keep doing the things you love.

I’m always happy to work with older clients, focusing on safe strength, balance, and mobility work to help you stay capable, resilient, and moving well for life 💪

🎧 Let’s Talk About Music & Workouts! 💪

So something interesting happened this week... One of my clients (very honestly 😅) told me my workout playlist was awful! 😂 Now, I love that playlist – and so do many others – but it got me thinking…

Music is such a personal thing, especially when it comes to working out. The right track can fire you up, push you through that last rep, and put you in the zone. But the wrong music for you? It can totally kill your vibe, make the workout drag, or even demotivate you.

🎵 Did you know?
👉 Listening to music during exercise can boost performance by up to 15%!
👉 Upbeat tempos can help regulate pace and reduce perceived effort.
👉 Music can even help improve mood and reduce post-workout fatigue.

Personally, I’m a big fan of EDM (Electronic Dance Music) – those high-energy beats just get me going! But I totally get that it’s not for everyone. Some people prefer rock, hip-hop, pop, metal, or even classical!

This morning’s session was a double win! 🐾💪

Not only did I train a human, but I also had the pleasure of training her puppy, Violet! We kicked things off with a run together, and then while her owner focused on strength work, Violet had her own little obedience session—learning to sit and stay instead of her usual jumping-all-over-her-human routine. She did brilliantly—in fact, I’d say she was more obedient than her owner 😄

It’s always such a joy getting to meet (and train!) the furry members of my clients’ families. Working out with your dog doesn’t just benefit your physical health—it also boosts your mood, strengthens your bond, and keeps both of you accountable to your fitness goals. 🐶❤️🏋️‍♀️

🌞 This time of year is absolutely fabulous! 🌿 As a PT instructor, I love seeing so many of my clients take their workouts outside — and it’s easy to see why!

Exercising outdoors brings a whole host of benefits:
✅ Boosted mood
✅ Reduced stress
✅ Better sleep
✅ More energy
✅ Greater calorie burn
✅ Improved focus and cognitive function
✅ And not to mention — the joy of being in nature!

As we start to wrap up an amazing year, I want to take a moment to wish all my incredible clients a very Happy Christmas! 🎉

You've worked so hard this year, and I couldn’t be prouder of the progress you’ve made. From smashing goals to building healthier habits, you've absolutely earned the time to relax and celebrate with your loved ones. So go ahead, enjoy the festive treats, and make some amazing memories – you’ve earned it!

That said, fitness doesn't have to take a back seat over the holidays. Why not get outside for a long winter walk with family, play some festive games, or even just stretch out with a bit of light movement? Keeping active can help you feel great, even with all the celebrations.

I’m so excited to hit the ground running with you all in the new year and help you take things to the next level.
