Saturday was a great day of celebration, with a game of timed cricket, extended tea and fantastic vibes. All who attended the day said how wonderful it was.

Today on this beautiful September Saturday, we once again honour the life of Dave Porter.

The Dave Porter Memorial game is a beautiful 35 over game remembering a beloved friend, husband and club member.

Shanklin & Godshill 1st v Dave Porter 1st XI will start at 1pm at Westhill Road. All are welcome to visit with the bar open from 12pm.

Tomorrow, Newclose Cricket Ground plays host to a fantastic showcase game as Kevin Winchcombe leads the Isle of Wight Select XI, bringing together players from cricket clubs right across the Island, as they take on the Celebrity XI! Alongside the cricket will be children's activities and entertainment.

We'd like to thank Ability Dogs 4 Young People IoW for their excellent support of the Summer Fete last weekend.
The Dog Show was a terrific highlight to the weekend (especially with our photographer) and we loved seeing such a huge crowd, not only for all the car booters and market stalls, but in showing support for our club and charities based here on the Island.

Well done to all the winner's of the dog show and to all the participating owners and pets. We hope next year will be even bigger and better.

On Sunday we hosted the annual Summer Fete & Car Boot and what a spectacular turn out it was. The rain held off and we had an abundance of volunteers, market stalls and car boot sellers. Who did a brilliant job on making the event so welcoming to the community

The Abbey Brass for providing the tunes whilst Ability Dogs 4 Young People IoW provided the entertainment for humans/fur friends and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust for a good lesson on our local animal friends native to the island.

We have so many beautiful photo's to come of your wonderful fur friends, so keep an eye out for that in the coming days.

Thank you to all in the local community for supporting our cricket club on what hopes to be the start of something even bigger and better for years to come.
