Another weekend without a game for the Ladies 😭

Today's game away to Halwill has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

So far the Ladies have only played two league games in 2026 😭😭

Fingers crossed the next game on the 22nd stays on the good side of the weather!

The ladies welcomed Exeter Uni ladies today and came away with a 8-1 win.

Although the rain laid off for the match, the wind picked up massively so the pre-match team talk was all about keeping the ball on the ground today. The ladies done this well and although took some time to find their feet, they stormed into a 5-0 lead at half time after a dominant first half performance. The second half Exeter Uni picked up the pace and started stringing lots of passes together, meaning they were seeing a lot more of the ball than the first half. However Shaldon remained solid in all positions, battling well all over the pitch and proving too much for the opposition. The game finished with an 8-1 win which saw a range of brilliant goals scored, with the girls moving around and playing different positions.

MOTM today goes to our captain, Lucy Rosser.
Lucy bossed the midfield today, running the game, putting in challenges, smashing in a hat-trick and dropping two assists on top of that.
A truly unstoppable captain’s performance!

Although we have played more games than others, this now moves us up to 2nd in the table. We have 1 more game before the festive break where we travel to Halwill next Sunday.

Today the girls welcomed Fremington Ladies who are currently sitting top of the table, it was 1st v 3rd so we knew we were in for a good game.

First half the ladies played into very strong winds and found it difficult to find their feet and play the free flowing football we have seen in recent weeks. This ultimately led to Fremington capitalising from a corner to see the half out with a 0-1 lead.

Second half the ladies showed great determination and began on the front foot, grabbing 2 goals in quick succession thanks to goals from Ella Underhill and Keira Harvey which were both beautiful finishes. Fremington then responded well and grabbed 2 goals back, putting themselves back infront. Shaldon knew we had to push for a third goal and Ella U’s quick feet and skill saw her tackled down by the Fremington keeper inside the penalty area. Captain Lucy Rosser stepped up under pressure and slotted the ball into the bottom corner.

The game was then on a knife edge for the last 15 minutes and both teams were giving their all to try and find a winner, however the full time whistle blew which saw the points shared with the game ending 3-3.

A massive well done to the ladies who showed great resilience, bouncing back from being behind twice in the game to earn themselves a draw. This now means we are 6 games unbeaten in the league.
MOTM today goes to Jasmine Course for putting in yet again a brilliant performance at right wing and centre mid, running riot all game and causing the opposition problems.

Next week we make the short journey to face Paignton Villa Ladies.

Today's Player of the Match!

Keira Harvey!!

A wonderful young player who always gives her all. She was fantastic today, running up and down the wing all game, defending brilliantly and then starting so many attacks with her great ball carrying.

2 goals today and also set others up to score!

Today the Ladies welcomed Axminster Town Women AFC in a league match!

With a full squad raring to go, the Ladies got off to a great start and had scored 2 goals within the first 10 minutes, showing their intent to grab another win!

The team showed brilliant attacking football and grabbed further goals before half time, going in to half time 6-0 up.

With a full bench to choose from and a healthy score line in the Ladies favour, the managers chose to make changes to enable everyone to get game time. This meant a few players playing out of position, but still giving it their all to help the team 😀

The Ladies grabbed a few more goals, and Axminster grabbed a few of their own on the counter to make for a lively second half.

The game ended with a convincing 9-3 win, which marks the Ladies 5th league win on the bounce. After a shaky start to the season, they seem to have found their rhythm and are showing how well they can play!

Also to Heidi for her first goal for the club! A player that has been growing in confidence and skill every week and thoroughly deserved her goal today!

A fantastic team performance 🩷

Player of the match went to Keira H for a brilliant performance at wing back. Putting in great challenges and going forward with real purpose, setting up goals and scoring 2 herself!
