We are looking for a referee this Saturday. We have a friendly but have been let down. The game is at Donhead and is a 2pm kick off. You will get paid. Can anyone help please?

Match Report 12/07/25

Pre-Season is here and the Don’s first game against Barford Hornets was a heated one in more ways than one. With temperatures at 31 degrees, the game had everything for the first match of the summer. Great to see some new and old returning faces today.

Donhead started well, on the front foot, controlling position and looking to advance. The opener came soon into the game, with Luke Turner opening the scoring, breaking through Barford’s defence beating the keeper 1 on 1. 1-0

Through the rest of the half, Dons had some other clear chances to score. Turner hitting the post and Josh Maskell powering through midfield to see his shot just wide. But against the run of play, Barford would take advantage of a mistake at the back to equalise before half time.

1-1 at the break. Some quick words from new Donhead coach Shane Randall would get the boys up for the next half.

Minutes into the second half saw another strong midfield run from Maskell. He beat the defenders, hitting a pass square across the 6 yard box to be poached in by Andrew Butler 2-1

Barford came back with another strike to make 2-2.

Goal of the game would be Turner’s second. Cutting inside and lashing a 25 yard strike past the keeper. 3-2 with 15mins to go.

But then things got heated. Small scuffles through the game built to a point that saw Lennon Burden sent off for pushing a player to the deck. The resulting free kick was put away for 3-3.

Minutes after a disputed penalty was given, Ben Haynes trying to stop a near post chance. The Barford striker stepped up, saw his shot, hit the post and it ricochet’d away. Was that a life line?

Sadly not. Barford would sneak the win in the final 5 mins and the game ending 3-4.

A disappointing result for the Don’s. Lots to take forward in the next couple of weeks training and the next game after. 🍕🍕calling all pizza lovers 🍕🍕

We are delighted to share that ’s Pizza will be joining us at Donhead Sports Club on Friday 13th June between 6pm and 8pm.
The reviews for these pizzas are impressive so we’re thrilled to be hosting the first of these pop ups.
The bar will be open, bring the family and have a pizza picnic on the field.

What a brilliant day yesterday for the Brian Gray Memorial Match/ Charity Day and then the Donhead Presentation. Thanks for the effort put in by the committee and volunteers to make it a huge success. Lots of money made for Air Ambulance. The winners of the Memorial Match were Mr Donhead Fc with a 9-5 win.

The teams have been drawn out for the Brian Gray game. It’s a 2pm kick off on May 25th. All players please wear their own black shorts and socks. We will provide the shirts. The Donhead Utd presentation night will follow after the game.
Bar opens at 12.30. There is a bbq, raffle, bouncy castle and a DJ. Bring the family down for a good day and raise money for air ambulance.

Today we played at home to Longfleet. We knew it was going to be a hard game as they are one place higher than us in the league. We started really well and took the lead early on through a well taken goal from Matt Tripp-Cosh. We carried on with the great play and hit the post and crossbar and Tyler only had one meaningful save to make in the first half. We kept attacking but just couldn’t finish and we were starting to think it was going to be one of those games where you have all the chances but go on to lose. Half time came and we should have been 5-0 up but we were only 1-0 up. A few positive and stern words from the management team made the team come out in the second half wanting to get the win even more and we soon let our dominance show we were again non stop attacking the Longfleet goal but just couldn’t get the goal but we had a free kick about 25 yards out which Ryan “Rocket” Melville dinked over the defence to Lennon who finished brilliantly to make it 2-0! We kept pushing for more and after 70 mins and a few missed chances Jack Wells picked the pull up in midfield about 30 yards out and hit one with his left foot and it bent into the top corner to make it 3-0. What a strike!! The only down point of the game is that we switched off to allow Longfleet to get a consolation at the end. The final whistle went and we won 3-1 and never looked like losing. Special mention to our new signings George Kavanagh for a solid game in defence and you would never think he hasn’t played for a couple years and Jay Maskell for causing problems out wide. Dick of the Day went to Tony Isaac for a stupid tackle from behind and then saying “ I won the Ball!”. MOM could have went to a few. It could have been Lennon, Rocket or Jack but we gave it to George Kavanagh for his fantastic solid display in defence.
Next week we travel to Allendale. Up the Dons!!🔵🟡
