Agis Across Europe

Agis Across Europe On 1 June 2026 Agis will set out on a 12-month cycling expedition across Europe, covering ~18000 km to raise funds for cancer research.

I am Agis Apostolopoulos, a London-based visual communications designer, storyteller, and cyclist. In June 2026, I will set off on a year-long cycling journey across Europe to explore culture through food, community, and shared stories, while raising funds and awareness for cancer research. This journey is in memory of my mum, who lost her life to cancer far too young, at the age of 66. I ride in

her memory β€” and in the hope that cancer research will one day prevent other families from experiencing the same loss. Each week, I will arrive in a new place, share traditional dishes with local people, and tell the stories that bring culture to life around the table. These encounters will also create space for conversations around cancer prevention, including the role of healthy diets, physical activity, and evidence-based research.

Cycling through the countryside near Tonbridge.
A winding lane, winter trees, and horses grazing quietly.

The world is moving slowly, and these are the rides I remember most.

First ride of the year. Sixteen miles out to Biggin Hill and back. Cool air, quiet roads, winter still lingering in the hedgerows.

Met friends along the way, shared stories, warmed hands around a well-deserved hot coffee, then turned back home with that calm tiredness that only a good ride brings.

Nothing epic. Nothing forced. Just movement, connection, and the simple pleasure of starting the year on two wheels.

Sunny Christmas Day, brutally cold, properly freezing but staying home is not an option. I have a fifteen mile training ride to do.
Two thermal layers, two long-sleeve tops, the hoodie, and double layers on my head.

Cold air on the face, and legs but movement is warmth in disguise.

That should be enough… surely... though the doubting face 🀣

A beautiful, sunlit Thursday in London.

I took Mustard out for a cheeky 10-mile loop to - crisp air, quiet streets, and a steady, purposeful pace. Putting some training miles in the bank for the 100-mile London Lockdown ride ahead.

A brief pause to warm frozen fingers around a hot Americano, helmet resting on the table, bike waiting patiently outside. These small rituals matter. I am feeling grateful.

A little throwback to a warm August evening with Mustard. Quiet streets, soft light, and that feeling when the pedals just keep turning and you forget what time it is.

Holding on to this summer energy as we roll through December.
