We have heard from Stan Balls daughters, his Funeral will be held on Friday 30th January at 1:30 at Littlehampton cemetery and then back to Littlehampton badminton and squash club where he spend most of his time and became a part of the committee there he was so passion about it.

If for anyone who would like to attend me and my sister would be would be very glad for everyone to see him on his last journey.

It is with sad news that we have just heard that Stan Ball has sadly passed away.

Stan was a lovely player , playing for Selsey for many years before he moved away.

He was a brilliant left arm opening bowler , all rounder ,great team player and lovely character

Our thoughts and condolences go out to Stans family.

As the year draws to a close, I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to all the juniors who’ve participated in cricket this season and their parents for their unwavering support.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the season despite my rather rickety knees, and I hope the juniors have too.

Keep an eye out in January for our newsletter detailing the plans for the 2026 season.

Feel free to contact us as a club with any ideas or suggestions, as we’re all about the children.

This upcoming Tuesday 25th November Selsey Cricket Club will be running indoor session for 5 to 11 years old from 5pm to 6pm and 11 to 16 year olds from 6pm to 7pm at The Academy Sports Hall Selsey.

This will be last session before the new year when further details will be out regarding plans for pre season and the upcoming 2026 season.

So if new or a regular give us the game a try and see if you enjoy’

This coming Tuesday 28th October 5 to 11 year olds cricket indoor at The Selsey Academy indoor sports hall from 5pm to 6pm and 11 to 16 year olds from 6pm to 7pm. So if interested please contact Nic on [email protected] for more details so if a regular participant or new to the game feel free to join in. Just fun session to keep in contact with people during the winter months. There will be another session in November so if unable to attend this one there will be other opportunities. Many thanks to the FORESTERS SOCIETY for their continued fantastic support to help fund these sessions greatly appreciated by Selsey Cricket Club.’

Time to put the cricket club away for the winter , This Sunday 12th October any volunteers welcome from 10 till 12 to tidy pitch, sightscreens, nets etc.

Bar open from 12 till 1400 hrs ,sooner, if we get the work completed quickly.

We will send the agenda for AGM soon which will be on friday 7th November 8pm start. i

We said earlier that we would look at some indoor sessions for 5 to 16 year olds over the winter months to keep momentum going and look at promoting this great sport for the youth of Selsey and surrounding Villages.

Selsey Cricket Club are pleased to announce that we have booked The Academy in Selsey for Tuesday 28th October and then a month later on Tuesday 25th November. Then we will be looking at the new year for monthly session in febuary and march and then look to increase before main season starts in May.

So for tuesday 28th October plan is 5 to 11 years 5 to 6pm and then 11 to 16 years 6pm to 7pm.

These will just be fun sessions so if interested please contact Nic Nolan on
[email protected]. we would just require name/contact details etc.

This is a new venture for us and something we are looking forward to. if numbers are good we may have to adjust session times and break down to 5 to8s,8 to 11s, 11s to 16s for 40 min sessions. please be patient with us as we set this up.

You may be interested but have other clubs on at this time but please express interest to us for future programmes.

The ideas are endless so if anyone is interested in helping whether being a coach assistant, or would like to look at running a team whether this is a mixed team, boy's or girls please let us know.

Dynamos cricket 8 to 11s does have a girls only option if this makes them more comfortable for the 2026 season starting in may.
