Tonight the Scottish Gas National Age Group Championships (SNAGS) drew to an end with the last Finals kicking off at 4.30pm. First in the pool was Ryan Brown who won SILVER in the Boys 15yrs & over 200m IM fnal. This was followed by Kirsty Armstrong who was in the Girls 100m Butterfly. Kirsty not only claimed GOLD, but in doing so set a new Scottish Age Group Record! Lucy Hope was last of the Team to compete, swimming in her age group 100m Butterfly, on this occassion Lucy missed out on a podium place.
Going into the final session tonight TEAM BEST were lying in 10th place overall, which is an outstanding position given the fact that the BEST is a small Team and are up against some clubs who have 20+ swimmers taking part. As soon as we have the final overall placing we will let you know.

Full house!! Lucy Hope GOLD in the 200m Free, Ryan Brown SILVER in the 200m Fly, Kirsty Armstrong BRONZE in the 200m Free, and our girls 4X100m medley relay team consisting of Kathryn Swinney, Jenny Adams, Kirsty Armstrong and Lizi Clelland finished in 6th position. Great swims, great swimmers, great team. Go BEST!

Today has been a busy day poolside, Lizi Clelland has been competing in the 200m Free, Gregor Swinney in the 200m Fly and Matt Berlansky in the 100m BS.
Ryan Brown had the fastest qualifying time in his 200m Fly, Lucy Hope 2nd fastest time in the 100m BK, and Kirsty Armstrong 3rd fastest in the 200m Free. All 3 swimmers will be battling it out in the finals later this evening!! Good luck swimmers we are right behind you!

It was more great swims on Friday and the medals just kept coming. Kirsty Armstrong took GOLD in the 200m IM and this was followed with Lucy Hope making it a double with GOLD in the 50m Free. Ryan Brown had a strong swim in the 400m Free & finished 4th, after which he went on to take BRONZE in the 200m BK. Finlay Dewar finished 10th in the 200m BK. Good solid swims came from Robbie Czjaka, Gregor Swinney and Matt Berlansky in the 200m BK, Matt and Gregor in the 50m Free and Kathryn Swinney in the 200m IM. The girls relay team finished 6th overall.

last night at SNAGS our BEST swimmers finished with Kirsty Armstrong taking GOLD in the 200m Fly & Lucy Hope taking Gold in the 100m Free!!
Today Kirsty Armstrong achieved another GOLD in the 100m BS, Ryan Brown won SILVER in both his 100m Fly & the 400m IM. Lucy Hope won SILVER in the 200m BK.

Armstrong, Lizi Clelland, Kathryn Swinney & Emma Suddon in the 4X100m Relay Team.

Our very own BEST swimmers are competing at The Scottish Gas National Age Group Championships being held at the RCP in Edinburgh over the next few days. Today has seen our swimmers off to a flying start! Earlier today Ryan Brown achieved a Silver in the 1500m Free, and Lucy Hope recorded the fastest qualifying time in the 100m Free and swims later tonight in the final. 2 Solid swims came from Matt Berlansky in the 200m BS and from Lizi Clelland in the 100m Free.
Kirsty Armstrong came first in her 200m Fly heat & qualifies for the final later tonight. Both Finlay Dewar & Charlie Lochhead put in good solid swims in their 100m BK heats, as did Kathryn Swinney in the girls 400m IM.
The start of this evening's finals has seen Kirsty Armstrong strike GOLD!! in the 400m IM.

We wish all the swimmers good luck over the next few days & we will keep you updated with their progress!

The British Gas International Meet in Leeds has now come to and end, and what an event it has been for our 3 BEST performance Team Swimmers. Ryan Brown, Lucy Hope & Kirsty Armstrong between them have set new Scottish & East District Records, and smashed some of their existing PB's.
There is no stopping this Team, it just gets better & better. Well done everyone!!

Another BRONZE!
That was a real nail biting swim from Lucy. Having led for most of the way Lucy was just pipped on the line into 3rd place with a time of 2:16:65
