Well done and thank you to all our students who attended our very first 3-week sequence block!! We had dancers from all levels take on the challenge of something new! Our March dances were the Gypsy Tap, and the Mayfair Quickstep. 🙌🏽💕 ⭐️We will be startling our next 3-week block on Wednesday next week, where we will continue the Mayfair Quickstep and introduce the Palma Waltz! ⭐️ Why not consider joining us in April! 😁

⭐️ Sequence Dancing??
In ballroom and latin american dancing, couples dance their own routines. In sequence dancing, couples dance the same 16-bar or 32-bar routine steps simultaneously in a circle, repeating until the music ends. Everyone is dancing the same steps for a sequence dance at the same time - this makes it a fantastic type of dance for all levels.

This spring we will be running short 3-weekly blocks focusing on two new sequence dances each block. Pick the blocks that work for you!

With students often away over school holidays and my own down time with my family so important, we often take a break from regular classes on school holidays.
But that doesn’t mean dance has to stop entirely… Practice Hours will run as an alternative whenever possible, and that’s what a number of our students came along and enjoyed this week!

It was great to see such a strong turnout by couples from all levels this week! Well done everyone.

Practice hours are so useful to really just dance! Review what you’ve learnt in recent lessons, and also recall past choreography that hasn’t been touched in a while. Take a rest anytime and watch new styles danced by more advanced couples - see what you have to look forward to! Practice is so beneficial for the retention and improvement in your dance and we do notice this in couples who are attend practice when they’re able.

But most importantly Practice Hour is simply another chance to enjoy a solid 60 minutes of music, movement and laughs together!! ❤️

Christmas dance 2025…this year we introduced The Wanderer to the party, and it was a hit!
This was a routine shared with me in August when I was invited to teach ballroom to some rock and roll regulars in New Zealand on my recent trip. Thank you Southern Rock and Roll Club in Christchurch, NZ for being so welcoming and sharing such a great routine!
It will definitely be a Diamond Dancesport regular routine for future events!! 💕

What a fabulous night!!
A special mention to our beginners…after only 6 weeks of lessons, it was lovely to see such confidence and enthusiasm so early on. ❤️ They did not leave the floor! 😍
