I took the risk.
Left my pro sport job.
Built my own coaching business.
Now I’m working from Bali (just for a few weeks, but still).

Most coaches I meet are brilliant at what they do — but they’re stuck in the same cycle:

Most coaches are competing for the same pool of general population clients. It’s crowded, it’s price-driven, and it’s draining.

Athlete coaching is a different market. And hardly anyone is showing coaches how to get into it. When you move from offering “sessions” to offering outcomes like speed, power, or better performance on the pitch:

Most coaches believe their income tops out at £25–30/hour.
That’s true… if you only work with general population clients.
Short-term commitments.
Cancellations.
No real recognition for your expertise.
Athletes are different:
⚡ They stay longer because performance takes time.
⚡ They pay for results, not just sessions.
⚡ £50–100/hour is realistic when you deliver impact.
The problem isn’t knowledge.
It’s who you’re working with.

When I was coaching general population, I was:
→ Delivering 30+ sessions a week.
→ Constantly firefighting cancellations.
→ Earning less than my expertise deserved.

And like most coaches, I thought the answer was more qualifications.
Another CPD. Another workshop.

The truth? It wasn’t more knowledge I needed.
It was positioning.

The moment I shifted to athlete coaching, everything changed:
⚡ Fewer clients.
⚡ Bigger impact.
⚡ More freedom.

Athletes already wanted what I could deliver — speed, power, performance — but I wasn’t speaking their language.

One of the most powerful ways to land athlete clients…

…is to stop selling sessions altogether.

Instead, offer an outcome.

Athletes don’t care about buying hours in the gym.
They care about:
✅ Running faster
✅ Jumping higher
✅ Reducing injuries
✅ Performing better in their sport

So instead of pitching “8 PT sessions”…
Pitch: “Let’s see how much we can improve your speed in 4 weeks.”

It builds trust.
It removes pressure.
And it makes you the coach who delivers results, not just workouts.
