A simple way to teach distance control without overthinking technique 👇

This stroke length ladder drill gives juniors a clear visual for how far the putter should travel — instead of trying to “hit” putts different distances.

Start with shorter strokes, then gradually move to longer ones. You can also challenge players to land the ball at specific distances using only stroke length.

Why it’s effective:
✔️ Connects stroke size to distance
✔️ Removes the urge to “hit” the ball
✔️ Builds consistency in tempo and strike
✔️ Gives juniors a simple, repeatable system

A great drill to build feel early — and one that scales all the way up to elite players.

Small changes here make a huge difference to ball flight consistency. Better strike + optimised delivery = tighter dispersion and more predictable numbers
