Our mascot, Walton, is named after Major Stanley Walton-Brown, a founding member of our rugby club. He founded Seghill RFC in 1921.

We take pride in our heritage, as one of the few clubs in Northumberland with a century-long history. We currently run two senior rugby teams. The 1st XV play competitively in Durham/Northumberland division 3 most Saturdays whilst our 2nd XV play social rugby in the Northumberland Merit League.

Unfortunately, this weekend’s game against Novocastrians RFC 3’s has been called off, as Novos are unable to field a squad.

We apologise to everyone who was planning on coming down to support the lads. Unfortunately, the situation is completely out of Seghill’s hands, and we’re disappointed not to be taking to the field this Saturday.

Attention now turns to next weekend as we go again! 💪🔴⚫️

We’re back at home this Saturday as we welcome Novocastrians RFC 3’s to Welfare Park for another tough pre-season test.

After a fantastic start to pre-season with a 60-12 win away at South Shields RFC at the weekend, the hard work continues tonight! 💪🏉

The lads put in a strong performance on Saturday, showing the benefits of all the work we’ve been putting in throughout pre-season. Now it’s about building on that result, raising the standards again and carrying that momentum towards the new season!

FULL TIME | PRE-SEASON

A brilliant start to our pre-season campaign as we came away with a 60-12 victory over South Shields RFC. 🔴⚫️

The hard work the lads have been putting in throughout pre-season training was there for all to see. Dominant lineouts, a powerful scrum, and some fast-paced, exciting rugby from the backs laid the platform for a strong all-round team performance.

It’s a fantastic starting point as we continue our preparations ahead of the new season, but there’s still plenty of work to do.

We go again on Tuesday night as we look to build on this performance and keep the momentum rolling.
