Rather Short Notice, however ………
Ladies and Gentlemen, here are the details, such as they are, for a little festive gathering on Saturday 9th December in the year of our Lord 2023. It is all very informal, nothing really organised as such, except for a time to meet, followed by a gentle cycle along the seafront, perhaps stopping from time to time to converse and imbibe in a refreshment or two to sustain us. Albert will be present.
We will be gathering at the fine hostelry of The Bicton Inn, which is located in Bicton Street, Exmouth. Some of you may well have been here before in a previous life, and indeed, in considerable numbers. The following postcode may help you to locate this splendid watering hole, if this is your first time – EX8 2RU. It will be a frustrating task if you decide to drive and park your motorised transportation adjacent to the Bicton Inn. If we may advise, we would strongly encourage you to park elsewhere and cycle to said establishment.
Please be good enough to arrive for about 11.00 o’clock, just after might be good, as we believe the doors open at 11:00 am. We shall then take some time to converse, catch up with past friends, greet new riders and discuss the days options available to us, depending on the meteorological conditions that prevail at the time.
You may find it useful to bring with you a receptacle for consuming a warm beverage for later on in the ride. We shall say no more at this stage and let your imagination run riot with the endless possibilities that demand the requirement of said vessel.
We trust that you will all dress in a style that befits such a gathering, and it is with unrestrained excitement that Albert and his close friends, find ourselves on a winter ride that encourages the donning of tweed. Festive enhancements of a tasteful manner will of course be encouraged.
As mentioned, nothing is organised as such, however we will delight in your company and the conversation that inevitably will be stimulated by such a gathering.
Albert very much looks forward to seeing you all at this festive time of year.
Toodle Pip!
