What a tremendous day out at Bedale Bowling Club. Bedale were great hosts and good company. Astley Park won over all by just three points but that was by the by as the games were most enjoyable with such a friendly atmosphere. Let’s hope next year they will join us at our club. Astley Park Bowling Club hosted the County Saturday Challenge Cup semi today for the first time. Everything went really well and played in the spirit of the sport, with some brilliant bowling. Rothbury came in second and the winners today were Cowpen and Crofton. It truly was a great day had by all. Good luck to Cowpen and Crofton for next week in the final.

Astley Park hosted the Irene Ward bowling competition this year. The day was well represented by various clubs and played in good spirits. Well done to Crawford Park in winning the Irene Ward trophy presented by Les Bowman and the runners up were Willington Quay.

Yesterday we had over 100 students come to the green as part of their transition day from middle school to Seaton Valley High school. Not all in one go I might add they came in batches of 20 and over and what a pleasure it was. There was Archery,Blind Bowling, Slalom, Bowls Bash and shuffleboard for them to try. The day was really enjoyable and a good template for future events and the weather was lovely which always helps.
A massive thank you for those who gave their time and energy into making this happen it was a great success, well done!!
From Astley Park Bowling Club we wish the students all the very best for the future.

Thank you to all who helped at our Open Day today We have now doubled our membership since the start of the season having signed 2 more gentlemen up this morning. A huge welcome to you both. It’s been an amazing effort that has really paid off.
