As part of the RFU Volunteers Recognition Programme supported by Switch Car Rental - the County organised event was held at Hartlepool Rovers F.C today.

Thank you to everyone that supported the event held before the Men's U20's game. Thank you to the volunteers for everything you do for our game in Durham County.

We finished our season yesterday in very sunny and hot conditions as Carew travelled to Houghton-le-Spring, where we played some of the best rugby we’ve produced all season. From the off it was a physical battle up front, with Seaton setting the tone early through excellent set pieces and strong lines throughout. Chris Dobson showed his skillset and game knowledge superbly once again, while also displaying his running threat, with Craig Slaughter at 10 controlling play and tempo excellently.

The battle for top try scorer came to an end yesterday, with prop Lee Burdon on 11 and Centre Stuart McLennan on 12. It was Stuart who claimed the honours, scoring the first try of the game before going on to secure a hat-trick, taking his tally to 15 for the season. Every time he got on the ball, he found gaps in the Houghton defence and made full use of his pace.

Joe Hall marked his return to the club and showed how much he’s been missed, putting in dominant carries time after time and proving a real handful to bring down. All seven of our tries came from team efforts across the squad, reflecting the overall performance, with everyone who pulled on a Seaton shirt contributing to a strong all-round display. New signing Brandon Robberts made an impact with some powerful carries, getting himself over the line, while Chris Sewell also crossed after a series of strong runs. Steven Wilson put in a top performance with his relentless work rate, also finishing under the posts following a brilliant team effort.

Seaton’s Man of the Match, voted by our supporters group, was Peter Storey. He showed he’s still got plenty left in the tank with a huge 80-minute performance, combining strong carries, tackles, ruck work and lineout presence, while also using his experience and leadership to great effect, topping it off with a try of his own.

A brilliant way to finish what has been an impressive rebuild season for Seaton Carew, with plenty more still to come. Thanks to all players, supporters and volunteers for the effort put in throughout the season.

Another season over, finished off with a fantastic win and a great night in the club. We aimed for a rebuild this season, getting back to enjoying rugby and keeping our unparalleled social side going strong. We've achieved our goals and then some. On the pitch we've had some good wins and hard losses which is all part of the game, we got our old guard still doing bits, we got some very skilled and experienced players and we've recruited new blood who are keen to learn and develop. Season 25/26 was a success, thank you to everyone that has played and supported us, we're looking forward to going again next season

It’s game day and here’s your squad for the final game of the season, as Carew hit the road for an away friendly at Houghton-le-Spring to take on the Boars in a 3pm kick off.

One last run out to wrap things up after a long season of graft, big performances and real progress, with the lads looking to finish on a high and put in a performance to be proud of on the road. A good test against a physical Boars side, but Carew will be looking to play their rugby and sign off the right way.

Today also sees the battle for top try scorer go down to the wire, with powerful prop Lee Burdon sitting on 11 tries this season and looking to overtake electric centre Stuart McLennan at 13, who currently leads the way on 12. One final chance for both to add to their tally and claim the top spot.

Change of fixture this Saturday, with our originally scheduled home game now moved to an away trip to Houghton-le-Spring as Carew face Houghton Boars for a 3pm kick off.

One last push to finish the season on a high.
