The treadmill isn’t just “walking” the horse. It’s creating constant resistance, which makes every step more intentional and controlled. As the belt moves underneath, the horse has to engage the core, lift through the back, and push from behind to stay balanced and moving forward.

What’s really incredible is being able to see every muscle being engaged. The glutes and hamstrings power the stride, the topline lifts and stabilizes, and even the smaller supporting muscles along the shoulders and back switch on with every step. The water adds extra resistance while reducing impact on the joints, so the horse works harder without the same level of strain.

You can literally watch the body activate from nose to tail, strength, balance, coordination, and conditioning all happening at once.

☀️🐴Keep Your Horse Cool, Fit & Happy This Summer! 🐴☀️
When the temperatures rise, intense ridden work can be tough on your horse’s body. That’s where the water treadmill comes in!
Keep your horses cooler whilst still getting a full workout. Water helps regulate body temperature and the treadmill is based in a cool barn

Whether your horse is recovering, staying fit, or needing a summer-friendly workout, hydrotherapy is the ideal way to keep them moving comfortably in hot weather. 🌊🐎

Here are some of the commonly reported benefits of salt therapy for horses:
○Supports respiratory health – Dry salt particles may help clear mucus and dust from the airways, supporting easier breathing and healthier lungs.

○ Helps horses in dusty environments – Horses exposed to hay, bedding, arenas, or stable dust may benefit from cleaner airways and improved comfort.

○ Encourages relaxation – Many horses appear calmer and more settled during salt sessions, making it a great addition to a wellness routine.

○ Aid to recovery after exercise – Improved airflow and relaxation can help horses feel refreshed after training or competition.

○Supports skin and coat condition – Salt environments are also helps maintain healthy skin and promote a glossy coat.

○ Natural and non-invasive – Salt therapy is drug-free and gentle, making it a popular complementary option for ongoing upkeep and care.

Every horse is different, but for many owners, salt therapy has become part of a proactive approach to keeping their horses feeling comfortable, healthy, and performing at their best. ✨

Did you know we also use our treadmill dry?
Here's why.
Walking on a dry treadmill can be very useful for horses when it’s used correctly and matched to the horse’s injury status.
Dry treadmill session gives control over:
○Speed
○% of Incline
○Duration
○Footing consistency
With this it makes it easier to build fitness gradually without the variables of riding outdoors, uneven ground, weather, or rider balance.

On a dry treadmill:
○There are no sharp turns
○The footing is predictable
○It's alot safe then hand walking your horse after box rest
○The horse maintains a steady rhythm
○Builds topline and core strength

A properly adjusted dry treadmill session encourages:
○Engagement of the hindquarters
○ Abdominal muscle activation
○Back muscle development
○Controlled loading of limbs

Dry treadmill also plays a big part in injuries like:
○Tendon or ligament
○Post-surgical (for example suspensory, kissing spines)
○Muscle rebuilding after box rest
